Insulation is there, but seems poorly installed. Does look pushed back.

Mine is like this on both sides, the insulation doesn’t actually reach the full area at the top to block the opening to the engine compartment. Is this by design? I said loose in the video but only the top is kind of unmoored and can be pushed forward a bit but otherwise its wedged in there.

The more I read these forums the more I think that the production line for the Maverick is very close to the movie Gung Ho where they're trying to push out as many vehicles as they can to meet the quota and decide to leave out parts and fasteners just to meet the quota.

Awesome movie FCowboy!! Thanks 😊

Looks like either not installed properly or came loose?? Agree if not 100% fixed in place proper why bother lol

Fellow Maverick owners- I had noticed being able to smell oil/engine bay smell(s), when opening passenger door… come to find out the normal black foam/rubber or even insulated carpet material found on most all vehicles was missing!? This is the area behind both door hinges (driver/passenger) that is the fender to engine bay openings. I have attached a couple pictures. You can see where the insulation would attach with a retainer clip….? Is my Maverick the only missing these?, is your’s missing..? Is this another cost cutting? If cost cutting, I will have to add my own, one for noise and wind and etc, but also I don’t want to smell or hear or feel engine bay nuances…?? Never seen this before guys? This is both sides! As you can see the washer fluid reservoir passenger side, and driver side is the same….

I've got both out now, I'll give it a few days and see if I notice any difference.

In the event that Ford denies warranty claims for XL/XLT Ecoboost and XL Hybrid owners and one still wants to add these, it looks like Varsity Ford Parts has them priced much better than ordering directly from Ford. I'd suggest shopping around but also see how much your local dealer prices them at to possibly skip the shipping expense. I have a feeling some may be able to get these added under warranty but I also wouldn't be surprised if Ford clarifies which models these are intended for and denies claims. The good news is anyone should be able to install these with no need to track down miscellaneous hardware 🤣

Thanks for the part number reference. I ordered a set for my XLT 2.0 AWD. It was produced Dec 26, and no insulators. I will just buy them and keep the receipt- in case Ford declares a warranty option.

Just checked mine. It has the insulation at both front doors. Hybrid XLT, built September.

I'm thinking this is a screw up or they ran out and pushed it out the door anyway. Since some have it and some don't. Definitely speaks poorly of Ford's Quality Control.

Agreed! Funny part is that the truck was designed for there to be insulation placed with a clip at the top… do you or anyone have any suggestions? Maybe ford tech would be willing to assist… I don’t mind paying to have this insulated if it’s not outrageous… not wild about seeing unfinished business and I’m sure it aides in noise/smell/etc
If you look under the hood you will see there is No insulation attached to the hood. I have an Escape Sel and it has an Insulation package . Check fordparts.com to see if a package is available. Cross check the Escape and Bronco Sport to see if is available and May fit.

I just checked my hybrid XLT and it has insulation there. It is a poly wrapped foam and covers the space completely.
