Not a feature I’m interested in or would pay for but if the market wants it so be it.
Every manufacturer has tried to make some version of a truck that people who don't want a truck or just want a part time truck will buy.

How many truck owners really need a four door and sacrifice a midget bed. Yeah, it gives you cool status having an all that truck. The avalanche was goofy looking in my Opinion.

That depends on where you're measuring,,,,

Thanks for the facts HRG.👍

I've read the statement in several threads, that the ranger had a smaller cab than the Maverick.🤔

Looks like it's a little bit of both not adding to a whole lot of difference.
Some have even said that there was more legroom between the trims of XL, XLT and Lariat. 🤣

There can be a difference in legroom for different seats in the same vehicle.

When the 1994 Mustang came out, I could not sit in a GT or Cobra because the seat wouldn't go back far enough for me to get my knees off the dash (I have a 36-inch inseam). When Ford offered the stripped-down GTS model for 1995, it had the thinner, base-model, non-power seats. That gave me an inch or two of knee room. So I bought a GTS.

I agree. You could also order Recaro seats on a Mustang.
But. That all is deflection.
We aren't talking about different vehicles from decades ago in the Last Century.
We are talking about a today's Maverick. The seats are identical the legroom is identical between trims. If you have the Lariat trim you may slide in and out of the vehicle more easily than you do with the regular fabric trim but leg room hip room remain the same.
A power seat on the XLT and Lariat may allow you more head room than a non-powered seat on an XL?

From Ford's website
Ford Maverick Interior: Dimensions
The first thing you will notice about the interior of the Ford Maverick is the space. It may be listed as a compact truck, but you will be impressed by the dimensions it provides.
For example, front passengers have 40.3 inches of headroom and rear passengers have 39.6 inches of headroom, if you choose the option that includes a moonroof. If you choose to go without a moonroof, you get 38 inches of front headroom and 39.5 inches of rear headroom.
The Ford Maverick also provides 42.8 inches of front legroom and 36.9 inches of rear legroom. There is also 55.4 inches of hip room in front and 54.1 inches of hip room for rear passengers.
Overall, the Ford Maverick has 100.3 cubic feet of passenger volume.

Having owned an excess of 60 vehicles in my lifetime. I'm old enough to remember being able to pick out your own upholstery.

None of this has any bearing on seats in a current Ford Maverick.
Other than seat covering no optional seats are offered.

What about offering a pass-thru as an option? I certainly would have considered it if the price was right. I would even be happy with a small pass-thru door perhaps 12" X 12" with an inside latch. I had an Audi with a pass-thru utilizing the rear armrest opening, it proved to be very useful on occasion.

Too expensive to offer it as an option.
The cabin pass through was not an option on Audi it was a feature.
If a particular model of Audi offered the trunk to cabin passthrough feature. Every car of that model year had that feature.

Next gen Maverick should include a pass through from the bed to the back of the cab with the back seats folded down. The unibody of the Maverick makes this possible. I know it would take some engineering to move the audio equipment from the back of the rear seats but that’s what engineers are paid the “big bucks” for.
What does everybody think?
Sounds like a dust and noise magnet for the cab, buy a Harbor Freight trailer instead

Or that HF trailer hitch load extender thing. That way you don't have to store a trailer, especially if you don't have the room.

What about a 12' fifth wheel trailer.

The bed extender hitch whatchamacallit thing is a great cheap option, but watch the turning.

You're right, the pass-thru should be a feature, I agree.
I would gladly trade for that cheesy little side bed cubby that is nearly useless.
I did tool and die work for well over 50 years and I have a pretty good feel for what it would take

The Chevrolet Avalanche was a truck with a pass through from the cabin to the bed via a “midgate.” If you folded down the back seats, the midgate would fold inward and lay flat on top of them, creating a seamless pass through to the bed. The Avalanche also came with a three-panel hard bed cover and each panel could be removed independently. Using the midgate and the bed cover would give you a full 8’ of enclosed bed space. Or you could turn two knobs and remove the rear window, snap it into the midgate, and take off the three bed panels and have the full cab open to the bed, with the pass through being big enough to fit a couch through. It was awesome, I owned one for 17 years before buying my Maverick and I never had a problem with exhaust fumes entering the cabin, regardless of whether the midgate was open or closed. I believe this technology is now being utilized on the new electric Silverado. Would LOVE to see it offered on the Maverick.
And that's with fumes coming out of a Chevy V8, 3 times the size of our motors.

I've always voted for pass through. I think the reason they didn't was that it's was designed to be able to produce and make a profit at $19,995. There is no way they could have done it for the 25s without a full redesign. A lot of it is crash testing and unibody integrity issues that have to be addressed. Ideally they are designing it for the 2027 right now. The question is do they think there will be enough competition to justify the upgrade costs. Market struggles are also a factor. Theoretically a poor economy could drive people into the Maverick from more expensive trucks. That would give good reason to add features like that, but only if there is competition at the Mavericks price point. It's really hard to say right now.

I don't think we will see a bed cabin pass-through on a Ford Maverick.

I'm one of those.

We first looked at a Maverick for me. I sat in one, an XLT, and could not arrange the seat to fully extend my left leg, or even enough that the seat was supporting my full thigh.

I then sat in a ranger, and the legroom seemed identical.

When on a lot to check colors, the salesman urged me to sit in a Lariat, and I could fully extend my left leg (he was trying to push me to take an ecoboost from stock instead of ordering a hybrid). He then proceeded to lie to me about how much they went for (claimed $5k over msrp), availability (none in town--yet there was one sitting at MSRP at the next closest dealer), and ordering (fulll year).

Anyway, we ordered a Lariat hybrid for my price; another dealer matched granger.
