In 2009 the Bride bought a Pontiac Vibe.
Ten years and 80k miles later, we returned home after a summer away from the Vibe to find considerable dry rot on 3 of the tires.
Put on new BFGs.
Here’s the relevant point……….
From the time the Vibe was new, it always pulled to the right. When new, took it to the dealership under warranty where they found no problem. Took it to 2 independent shops with the same result.
I always resented folks who linger in the outside lane. So I didn’t……..unless I was the only one around. The car would keep in a straight line while trying to climb the crown of the road.
When it came time to replace the tires, the wear was equal across all 4 tires, both across the each tire itself, and front to back. The car had had one tire rotation since new.
I had some hope that things would change with the new tires. Nope!
Got an alignment with the new ones. Played dumb about the pull. The tire shop did what they could. Still pulls.
One of life’s great mysteries.

did you go to ford yet. I like that info. I guess they would have wrote a qualifier beside the words "will be provided" i.e. "if we feel it is necessary". I can't wait til you find out because I have 11,000 miles on truck now.

i think the quality has decreased over the years ....
As with all major tire manufacturers, performance and quality is tire model dependent:

  • Brabus Models: Continental is the exclusive supplier for the Brabus 930, 820, and the ROCKET 1000 "1 of 25", often using 21/22-inch SportContact 7 tires.
  • Porsche: The 992-generation Porsche 911 Turbo S and various 911/Cayman models utilize specialized Continental SportContact series tires.

Yep....I bought a used 1985 Porsche 944. Had 2024 Continentals on it. Are they better than let's say a Michelin tire....NO....are they worse than a Michelin tire....NO. For what 95% of us on here use our tires for...the brand thing is in our head. Granda passed that "wisdom" to your dad......and your dad is a Ford guy only and a BFG tire guy only and passes that to his kids.........LOL :clap::clap:
