Negotiated the extended warranty

I purchased a 2022 Limited edition Lariat model that was fully loaded with 3,100 miles on it. I was able to negotiate it. I refused to pay for it. I used my 2022 Maverick Lariat build application price as a model to negotiate. Lucky is was the last day of the month and the dealership wanted the sale to be included for that month. Believe or not, I paid about $1,000 over value and they gave me a 5 year warranty for free. It took about 2 hours of negotiations but it worked in my favor. I love the truck and have had no issues.

Beware of those "dealer" extended warranties. Some are worthless and others have all sorts of required maintenance, above & beyond what Ford requires.

If it's a Ford warranty, it's better. They can be used at any stealership, and not just where you bought the truck.

FWIW, I got my brand new '23 Maverick Hybrid XL for $23,339 OTD. Price had increased between order & delivery, but the dealer honored Price Protection based date-of-order price.

Yes, it a first edition Ford maverick Lariat model. The truck has a front hood black ford decorative covering that details in small letters that say "first edition ". It also has side lower door coverings that enhances the look on pepper red vehicle. You can find the look of this vehicle on the internet. Now the extended warranty is a second party warranty policy for 5 years. It cost the dealership $1,700. dollars. I believe it was a win win for me.

I would doubt that a dealer would pay $1700 for what would amount to a 2 year extended warranty (3 yr factory + 2). Keep in mind that the majority of those 2nd party warranties are pretty much worthless, with high rates of coverages being declined and extended wait times at repair shops. CarShield is one of the worst, with extensive negative reviews.

You would be better off purchasing a discounted Ford extended warranty via one of the Ford dealers on this site.

Granger should be able to give you at the prices below +$50 for Ford's Extended Warranty, and not some 3rd party. Now go ask yourself the question... how much did you pay/coverage and for how long?
