I have been following the Bronco, Sport, and Maverick for a long time. My 2001 Ford escape was deemed unsafe to drive by a few repair shops...sucks!

So I need a vehicle....I am kicking myself I never ordered a maverick, but I am not comfortable with new models and new models I can't test drive. I am not a pickup truck person....but like the inexpensive price and fuel economy of the maverick.

All I can find are a very few base XL's....more Lariats....very, very few hybrids. I see order to delivery is still around 6 months.

Is there a better way than using the "find tour vehicle" tab on the Ford site?

Thanks.

Just how much are you willing to pay for this Maverick you seek? I hope it's a lot.

THAT is the issue. The reason I liked the maverick....it was inexpensive.
Now it is hard to find, and marked up by dealers....

It's hit or miss. My dealer here in Illinois had a lariat for 1000 over MSRP that I would have taken if it wasn't yellow. Keep checking around and dicker them down.

I'd suggest finding another vehicle you can get for MSRP now and ordering a Maverick. But you can keep looking, I think you're just unlikely to find it.

Thanks...

I waited for the BSport....delayed....got a subaru.
I should have ordered a maverick, but was unsure of the whole process.

But now, needing vehicle under this economy...the timing is not going to work out, again....

I will have to look used, I guess... since there is nothing out there worth it (to me) at 22-26k, and every trip I have to use Uber, is money towards a vehicle I could own.

I think it's harder now than it was a few months ago. We've bought 3 cars this year, a 22 Maverick XL, a 22 Civic Touring, and a 2023 Integra - all at MSRP with zero markup.

Sold the Maverick XL because we ended up not needing it (and I wanted the hybrid)

Interesting that we bought the Integra for MSRP - $37,395 - on July 6. Today Long McArthur (a well known and well loved dealer on this forum) has one just like ours for sale used for $49,950.

To be honest, I would buy a different brand vehicle and consider waiting for the 2024 Maverick assuming it doesn't get cancelled to see if they work out the bugs in the 2023 Models that the 2022 Models had (Battery Drain Issues, Cheap easy to scratch plastic, thin easily chipped paint, interior dash/trim rattles, hood shake/rattle, fire hazard recall, radio infotainment system glitches, etc.)

The Bronco's have problems of their own too that need the bugs worked out. I'd say the safest ford to buy right now is a Ranger. They have been the least problematic. We still don't know their long term reliability considering it has a turbocharged engine though.

Dude, hate to say the obvious but looks to me you've been living under a rock or cave. It's been this bad since like at least a year. You want a vehicle right now yet complaining about things are too expensive. Get in line., buddy. Your number is 1,000,000,000,000. But don't worry Ford will call your number some day.

I explained that I had a great, old....car that I recently had to sell.

"Complaining?"

I asked if there was a better search tool for Ford. Then I remarked how the maverick has been marked up by dealers...

Good suggestion. I've been toying with the idea of getting a Ranger, and installing the Belltech 2/4 lowering kit to help with the stupid height of those trucks until my Maverick comes in.

Ok....so unfortunately the maverick is still rare (even on a trip through WA and OR last week I saw 10x more than in IL).

I have never bought a used car...a bit off-topic now.

Any opinions of it Is better to get 3rd party financing or use financing at the "dealer" selling the used car (some of these places seem sketchy.)

Thanks.

Bought a couple used cars, but only from reputable places. If I had to go used I'd probably do direct 3rd party and get it inspected before buying right now. Get a pre approval from a bank, then when you confirm buying it finish the application for that vehicle.

Ok, now I am complaining...lol

Called _____ ford in wisconsin....listed in the ford search inventory tab for $22,900. (This is the price I am finding for 10 year old 4runners....)

I call them...they tell me it is their demo vehicle, but they can "order one for me." I ask if that one is for sale..."yes, for $41,000."

That's fine, but don't let it be advertised for 22k, if it is really 41k.

Unscrupulous.... I have been a ford guy for 30 years.... not happy the way things have been going at Ford these days.

Complaint over ;-)
