he was able to run a pace quicker than several porsches in the same group so that made grandpa happy (and a little surprised!).Was the driver able to push it to it's limits? How did it handle understeer/oversteer, brake fade etc.?
his instructor took him out in it in an advanced group and reported back to me that he was shocked by everything about the maverick. it was quick and handled great and in sport mode the transmission functioned well on the track.
prior to the event i had flushed the brake fluid with what i had on the shelf and use in my mustang and porsches (motul 660).
after my grandsons last sessions it came in with heavy "brake smell" and i'm not sure yet if he was over braking or if traction control was just doing its job.
FYI, i had him drive it in standard mode with traction control on with only the collision assist disabled which is required by PCA. tomorrow i will let him put it in sport mode to see if "HE" can report a difference.....
