My least favorite thing about my Maverick..

The blurry backup camera. The audio system that opens CarPlay when it wants to, or not. The slow to react volume changes.

My backup camera looks great, better than my 2023 Escape. If yours is blurry I'd take it in to the dealer, something's wrong.

Blame CarPlay playing audio automatically on Apple! They force it to do that. I set up a shortcut to automatically pause playback as soon as CarPlay connects, if you need help with that DM me. I have the same problem in my Escape.

I do agree it seems the volume changes hesitate for a second, which causes me to push the button a second time and it goes further than I want. I'll learn.

I keep forgetting to reset my Mav to Eco mode.

I have gone over 10 years without being blinded by cars at night behind me. Come on Ford, auto-dimming mirrors all around, please!

The HVAC "Recirc" mode shuts itself off and I only notice this AFTER the cab is filled from the "rolling coal" diesel Denali just ahead of me.
I ALSO get the vapors from the design of the attachment clips used on the interior trim panels. When you pry off a panel to install a wire, the clip often jams and either shatters or the hole in the plastic trim tab tears open. It's unlikely you can remove even a single panel without doing "some" damage.

I'm used to low-content vehicles, but what bugs me are the lack of an under-hood light and especially the lack of a light in the glovebox. How cheap can you get?

An under hood light? Like for the engine bay? I’ve owned tons of vehicles across all price ranges I’ve never seen that. Even gloebox light is pretty rare and not on 80k vehicles.

The location of the reverse sensor display (circled in red) perfectly blocks your view of approaching cars when backing into the street from angled parking. Why didn't they place it on the other side of the screen?

edit: it could have been just an outline instead of an image. Or they could have done it like in the FLEX.

Ford cheap.
No lights in the glove box or under the hood, no non-dimming rear view mirror, Connected Touch Radio instead of sync......

Is the *bleeping* gas "gauge" on the 2025. Whoever thought it was a good idea to have a 9 segment ugly "gauge" taking up all that vertical space needs to be taken out back and taught a lesson. In my 50 years of driving I've never seen a more stupid "gauge" in my life. Same pretty much goes for the temperature gauge but I don't look at that one as much.

This even beats out the off-centered rear license plate (which 3 people have already commented to me on).

What's your biggest complaint?

It can be disabled, but then there is no proximity warning at all.

Actually other the the 360 degree rotating dial shifter I really like everything else in my 1st edition Lariat. I drive my vehicles into the ground mileage wise so all the tech is pretty amazing to me. Bought it used with 21k miles and the previous owner had everything on this except the tow package and a leveling kit, hard sliding cover, mud flaps, I mean pretty much everything came on this truck

My least favorite is the 4.5 foot bed.

Turns out way more objects are 5 foot than I thought.

Id trade the back seats for a longer bed in a heartbeat.
