My 2022 Maverick build start

So my Maverick journey started with this 2018 F150 5.0 on 24’s. When the used car market went stupid crazy 2yrs ago I was offered enough for my truck to pay my house off ,so of course I threw the keys at the dealer.

After that ordered my Maverick, took 13 months but I’m a mechanic and got a beater , but then she came.

Step one was 22’s because why not.

Next was car audio, front door speakers are Skar TX6.5 components no pics sorry and rears Sundown 3.5 super tweeters

As you guy know who own these the speakers suck. Got a custom Hoel wire harness and I highly recommend using him worth every penny $250. So amp set up first LC2 Audio Controller for harness , mid amp Skar SKM400.4 and sub amp SK1500.1

Now for subs went with 4 Skar VD-8’s. Sealed box under rear seat. I built everything don’t let anyone touch my cars I’m a mechanic for over 25yrs. MDF and fiberglass, used SMD Sunflash and highly recommend it . The resin dries when you tell it to

Sandwiched the fiberglass between the MDF to make it 1 piece. UV light makes the Sunflash harden.

Subs in and covered in blue carpet, still getting used to 8‘s cause they don’t hit as hard but still very loud

Next will be 2-3 drop cause this thing looks like I’m riding on donks lol, and then either hood and door black strip or thinking about wrapping the hood and roof black ,there’s just a lot of blue but love the (truck) so far.

Got Raptor lights to install but first were these , I recommend them , there daytime lights that turn amber when signals are on.

The box looks great! Do you have more pics of it finished? Also how does it sound with the subs so close to the bottom of the seats? I have a sundown 10 with the thick rubber ring and was worried if I had a box made for it it would be close like yours to hitting the bottom of the seats and not sound good or damage the sub.

Sounds good there is a gap between the base and the seat do to those rubber stops , I did order grills for the subs also . Will post pics when they come in.

I still can’t decide what I want to do sub-wise
4 8’s was a local shop’s suggestion, but my initial thought is what you stated “having to get used to them”
I’m a 12’s kinda guy and so far my only options are cut a hole and put them in the bed or fill the rear floors with boxes (or I guess remove the backseat fully)

You can squeeze 2 10’s but they have to be shallow subs that work in a small sealed box , Sundown SD 10’s will work. Skar VD 10’s will work too. I’ve ran both these subs in the past and both are good sealed in a small box. If your used to 12’s , 8’s are gonna sound a lot different more punchy then loud good for rock music.
