Honestly, I've never understood the whole "you aren't the only one receiving garbage service, so stop complaining" argument. It's trashy at best, and flat out shilling for a garbage company at worst. Ford's handling of this entire thing has been disastrous on all fronts, including fronts not affected by shortages (communication). There's no metric whatsoever that Ford's done a good job. People are going to be upset, no one should ever have to deal with what we've been dealing with for a car.

We have people who had their dealers sell their trucks from under them, others who added huge markups, and others who added on thousands in unwanted accessories.

Those are terrible and make us feel for the customer. This guy has basically waited longer than he expected to wait.

I read this argument all the time on the forum and I think it's kind of bogus. What exactly would you like Ford to communicate to you that they haven't already?

While all arguably true, anyone who has done their due diligence knows this is the case right now. Certainly doesn't make it right, but it's reality. You don't HAVE to accept it, there are plenty of other options for a vehicle.

Unfortunately, if you want a Maverick, you're gonna need to learn to deal with this, as it is *likely* some or all will affect you at some point. Sucks, but again, reality right now.

OP should also understand he may face similar challenges elsewhere in the market.

So you owned one Ford car that was terrible and decided for your next car you'd also get a Ford?

This is not how I work. But it is interesting to read about.
Sounds like someone who keeps going to White Castle and keeps being surprised they spend the next 24 hours in the bathroom.

I won't be ordering my 2nd maverick till the 2024 models atleast. My first maverick was pure unadulterated shit luck. I bought mine in OCTOBER from a dealer without ordering and it was pretty close to what I would have ordered (I would have left out the moon roof cause they serve no purpose TO ME and it is just another possible failure point down the line) I am hoping for the 2024 models we see a Raptor, Rattler, ST, so on and so forth. Maybe all the problems with supply chains and the like will be gone by then we will see. I would love to get a Twin turbo version of this truck but keep my 31mpg (I know that is a pipe dream but a man can dream dammit haha)

There was also a Ford Explorer fiasco more recently with roll overs supposedly caused by faulty tires (Goodyear Wranglers IIRC)…
You must be old. Didn’t that happen in the 80’s?

I take it you didn’t get your truck either?

Did you actually send a letter to Mr. Farley, or just posting it here? If you want any action, it needs to be sent to him directly. Posting it here isn’t going to get you any results.
I actually asked Ford to contact me through this blog and they did. I complained that the only email I received from Ford was the initial 'we received your order' email back in Oct. 2021 when I ordered my Maverick. Not one other email after .... until Aug. 22, 2022 when I received my 'your Maverick is scheduled for production'. Ford did update their end, I received an email from them, and they also contacted me to make sure everything was updated properly. I did have a VIN, but found that out back on June 30th by contacting Ford. Their customer rep's have been great with every phone call I have made.

Yep, old as dirt- but still young/able enough to play in the dirt!

Only good news. Anything other than that is all Ford's fault. When people weren't getting emails they complained. When they got emails it wasn't what they wanted to hear. It has played over and over. Frankly its a pretty childish attitude to have. Its not like they are the only ones going through this. We're all in the same boat.

Okay dude. You needed a car immediately and instead decided to wait on arguably the hottest vehicle of the last few years. That's not Ford's problem.
