I like the V8 and it's position in the engine bay and rear wheel drive, vs the new side way enginge with power going to the front wheels.
Nice color scheme on your old Maverick. The new one would look good painted similarly.

Very cool!

Hopefully when I finally get my HPR XLT AWD '22 Maverick I can do a similar photo.

I have a mostly original paint '72 Maverick Grabber, and a '70 Maverick Grabber clone.

I told a salesman at the dealership when we bought Wifey's 2010 Prius "There is nothing under the hood that I'm touching" so don't need to look under the hood. (Maintence is Business Expenses)
It's not a business expense if you don't have a business..lol but maintenance is a cost of ownership and we all need to realize that. Occasionally we hear about the owner who never changes their oil - 70K on the truck with sludge gunking up everything. That's one of the reasons I only buy new.

We mostly buy new, wifey gets new, I haven't had a new car since 2007 Focus, have had 2 used Prii since then. Wifey pays for the service maintnence because it's a deductible expense, I do my own oil but send out for the other fluids. I'm hoping the Mav hybrid is comparable to the Prius.

Me too. It's a very similar design. I'm hoping it is as durable as the Ford Escape hybrid - huge miles on those drivetrains

When I was in high school, I dated a girl who drove a Maverick (don't tell my wife).

Very cool. We had a Maverick when I was a kid. Had like a houndstooth cloth seating.

I learned to drive in a slightly older version of the Maverick; I think it was a 1970 model. My dad had me hauls buckets of gravel from an empty lot back to the house in the trunk of the Mav when I was about 13, and now 50 years later I have a Mav that's actually designed to haul stuff, not being abused the way were misusing that poor car.
