I am wanting to know if anybody is using a USB MP3 player with there Maverick? If so what player are you using I am in the market to get a player for the express purpose to use in my new Maverick can anybody help me out? On this same topic would I be better off to buy a thumb drive and use that instead? I have never liked to clutter up my phone with music I am old school that way so I want a device for music only so any help from you all who have had a Maverick for a while now will be a great help to me. Thanks!

I can connect my old iPod via Bluetooth in my 24 Lariat and it plays well.

I agree with previous replies. Use a USB thumb drive. I have mine formatted to FAT32. You can even make playlists (I used good old WinAmp) and Sync4 reads them perfectly. It also starts playing just a second or two after turning on the vehicle.

Quick question for you if you have a smart phone that has bluetooth does that cause an issue?

I'd try a thumb drive first, they're only a few bucks and you won't need a power cable or anything else

Also you'll be able to skip tracks with the dashboard or steering wheel controls
Biggest downside is the UI (at least on '22-24) is pretty obnoxious for browsing any number of songs unless you fastidiously have everything organized as playlists ahead of time.

At a certain point it just becomes easier to be subscribed to a music service or have the files on your phone where you can leverage its voice recognition (admittedly I haven't tried the Maverick's, but Sync voice was interminably slow to respond on my Fusion). So I can commiserate with the appeal of being able to just swap a disc in to easily pick what you want.

Honestly, I didn't remember ever getting a callI while listening to my iPod, I mainly listen to SiriusXM. I just went to the garage with the iPod bluetooth connected and my Android bluetooth connected to Sync, making or receiving calls worked fine and the Ipod reconnected to play music when the calls end. The Sync switch between the two bluetooth connections worked well.
I hope this helps.
