Years ago i bought an ap called total recorder that you can use to record sounds from your computer
any sounds. I think now you can get a program that records vids also but im happy with mp3s
when i first started out id record in 20 min blocks but now i usually go 50min or 1h+. n older vehicles you had to listen from start to finish. The mav has a slider and you can progress to anywhere in the folder. NOW THAT IS SWEET. you can do it on the ap but ive never had any audio setup in a vehicle that did.

Do you use USB stick to play these files? I tried this recently and couldn't stand the "safety feature" where the Maverick doesn't let you navigate the USB folders / songs while driving! I've found an option of uploading these MP3 files to your own youtube music account, then you can play them with Android auto from the phone.

Ive only done it once and dont know if i remember the procedure.when the screen comes up that shows the file playing and the next few and you try to scroll down and get the alert. i think close that, and click next folder, next folder, next folder and then when you open the screen you down 3 and got 2 more to choose.
make sence?
yes i use flashdrive 32 gb so talkin mp3 thats bunch o files. i may be repeating myself but load like 50 min on music in one folder and just pick a name out of one of the songs. i mainly use pandora although there another place somewhere in EU that has good music and you dont even need a user name or p/w

MP3's in the music folder and play on CarPlay. No nanny state safety features. USB stick for me is redundant. CarPlay is easier plus the songs are on my phone.

I created 2 flash drives...His and Hers, as we have different tastes in music.
It's not a "must have", but there are times when just plugging the stick into the USB slot is nice...don't have to plug the phone in.

this would be sort of a cheap solution - over on ebay you can but the older low GB USB flashes in bulk for really cheap - if you bought a bunch of them you could put together a 50+ minute playlist on each catagorized by *whatever* that way you can just pick and choose a new stick

Im with ya man. the flashes are cheap n I dont drive enough to run one completly thru. using the total recorder i can record unlimited tracks. I cant remember who i said this to but i usually record off pandora but there a UK web called sound cloud. its a site that new unheard of groups post there stuff in hopes of makin a hit. you dont even need a user name or p/w
thx 4 the comment......z

I use the random song with the USB so I don't hear the album again, I usually drive long sessions so having 1500 plus tunes on a flash drive is great and no commercials or DJ blah, Blah Blah. The phone hangs up in the middle of a song sometimes but it's the free one that came with the Magenta Plan and I'm the hemorrhoid on Wifeys business phone plan.

USB stick with around 10,000 songs from my library in folders by artist and an assorted folder for my 500 favorites. The same for my phone. Also use Spotify through Android Auto. Previous years I had SiriusXM. Don't miss it or the cost. Like Spotify better through AA better.
