Am I the GM of a ford dealer? Nope, just someone who understands the industry and how things work. If I was a GM at a Ford store I don't think I would be still waiting on my July 2021 order lol

so you’re ok with being passed over week after week by ford. Nobody has received your exact build with an order date later then you?

I know they have changed the allocation process for the Maverick some to put greater weight to older orders. But I don't think it is simply that the oldest orders get scheduled first. Dealers were not provided w/ details about the changes in allocation/scheduling.

Allocation for production is still split up between regions. The regions give allocations to zones. And zones gives allocations to dealers. I am assuming that it is w/in the zone that older orders are granted allocation for the dealers.

And for scheduling, each dealership w/ allocation gets randomly ordered for each scheduling week.

So there are many factors at play. Some of it is just chance (i.e. the order that dealerships' orders are looked at for scheduling each week). You may be in a region with more Maverick orders than average. And later orders in other regions may be scheduled ahead of yours (because your region/zone has more early orders, or something like that).

Yep, it sucks to have to wait. But that's really all you can do. I had an 11 month wait. Finally got it and I am happy.

When I ordered my Maverick I was told by my dealer I would have it by Feb/March. Ford customer service told me April. It’s now the middle of May and I still don’t have a build date. How is this not misrepresentation?

Neither Ford nor my dealer had any contact til March. It would be 1 thing to update as things changed, but to go completely dark is unacceptable.

My dealer flat out said 6 plus months and as long as a year so be patient

I have no idea if anyone else got the same build as me before me but I honestly don’t have time to waste obsessing over it. Who has the time to spend calling and complaining and researching and annoying the dealer over something they have zero control over. I’ll get my truck when I get it. I’m not walking everywhere until I get my truck, my life will not change in any drastic way when the truck gets here. I have one vehicle now and then I’ll have a different one. I didn’t order a one off Ferrari that is going to change my life, it’s a small truck that gets good gas mileage. Sure I’m excited to get it!! Am I going to waste time and energy being angry some guys in LA got a Maverick before me?? Nope. Not worth it.

As the owner of many cars - no car changes your life.

I agree with everything you said. But this is a country full of people used to instant gratification. It's going to take a very long time to break this habit of having the car you want the same day.

Agreed, with the industry how it is right now there are very few cars to choose from that are for sale right now. If you want to be picky than you have to be patient.

I may disagree about a car changing your life, when I had a brand new Porsche Cayman GTS as a company car for a couple years that was a pretty big change haha. Biggest change was paying for tires every few months but still, it was a change lol

I would have to strongly disagree with that statement, unless your context is different than my assumption.

I have also been blessed to have owned many different vehicles over 40+ years of driving, and quite a few were very life-changing! Including my very first car, a '65 Mustang 2+2, which I later built into a resto-mod, then sold to build my first house. Pretty life-changing I'd say. There are countless other stories, like meeting my future wife at a cruise-in with my 427SC Cobra replica. I won't bore you with the rest, but maybe you get my point.

Unbeliveble with Ford No communication about order status or with production problems Dealer claimed no knowlege about my order placed 6/16/21. Only Maverick news is on this site And still waiting

As a legal aside, at least in my state, representations as to future events that don't pan out are typically not actionable "misrepresentations" which is a form of fraud. At most, you'd have a breach of contract claim.

Only exception is if you can prove they knew for a fact they'd be unable to fulfill the promise at the time the promise was made - then you might have an actionable misrepresentation

I told my dealer see you in July or August when I ordered. Ordered October 7th

You should have said, "I will see you when the 2023 models start rolling in.". I am an Oct 5th Order.....crickets.

I ordered my Mav XL 8-30-21. Salesman told me 12-16 weeks. I knew better. Just shipped last week. Likely 40 weeks

I ordered mine the same day.... Finally getting delivered between June 24th and 28th barring no setbacks .
