And even if you DO find it on the dealer's web site, it still may not mean a thing... Many (most?) dealer's web sites are just a plain vanilla copy of the standard setup Ford gives them, and that standard config works just like the Ford.com site - shows every truck inbound or on the lot, regardless of whether it's a customer order or not. Ironically, many of the local dealerships haven't even updated their "search" page to include the Maverick on the list of models for which you can search. Luckily, most of those also retain the standard "fill in the blank" search box you can use.I took a look at inventory at Ford.com and found a lot of Mavericks. It seems however that many were customer orders that the customer plans to complete. Has anyone who order and picked up their Maverick spotted theirs at the Ford site? Apparently, if you see one on Ford.com you need to click the "Dealers Website" button and see if you get a 404 or find the vehicle for sale.
Ridgeline is a midsize truck, not compact. Only 2 compact trucks on the market now. Although the Rivian R1T is close and even has a 4' 6" bed like the Maverick.Wrong, the Ridgeline is. Maybe not in your eyes, but in the market and design, it is.
I'd have to disagree with that... The Ridgeline is considerably more expensive, gets considerably worse fuel mileage, and is sized much closer to the mid-sized Colorado / Canyon / Ranger / Tacoma / Frontier trucks.Wrong, the Ridgeline is. Maybe not in your eyes, but in the market and design, it is.
here’s a couple:Would you mind sharing one of these articles?
About the same price as my Maverick Lariat with options. By Design and Market, it's a direct competitor. Just a more expensive one.Honda Ridgeline starts at $38,800 MSRP
What is it about Mid-Size vs. COMPACT truck you don't understand that keeps you defending your obviously uninformed argument?Wrong, the Ridgeline is. Maybe not in your eyes, but in the market and design, it is.
Hey, if you're happy cross shopping inferior over-priced vehicles just because some are sitting lots, then knock yourself out!Well then, fine if that's how you or anyone else feels about it, but I'm cross shopping these three vehicles, so they are in fact Direct Competitors going head to head for my purchase. That, is unrefutable. Also, the Fact that a person can actually Buy a new Santa Cruz or Ridgeline off the lot is food for thought.
So, by that explanation, the guy in this forum who was cross-shopping (deciding between) a Honda Civic SI and the Maverick would get to claim that the Civic and Maverick are in fact "Direct Competitors" because they are going head-to-head for his purchase? In the immortal words of Arte Johnson, "Very interesting... But wrong..."Well then, fine if that's how you or anyone else feels about it, but I'm cross shopping these three vehicles, so they are in fact Direct Competitors going head to head for my purchase. Perhaps, but I've done many a search on dealer websites where there was no "Maverick" option in the pull-down, but when I typed it in the search box, one or more Mavericks showed up that were actually in stock and available for sale (always at a significant markup). Always confirmed by calling the dealer.Actually, most dealer websites won't show a vehicle in a the search drop down if there is not one in inventory. That's how most of their sites are set up, so people don't do a search and pull up a donut.
All of the YMM data comes from JATO, or Chrome or some Cox company. Dealers don't put it in there, it's automatic once a vehicle comes out. So, if you don't see the YMM option in the drop down, most likely, the dealer doesn't have one.
Not a direct competitor. You are comparing a fully optioned one to a Base model of a different class.About the same price as my Maverick Lariat with options. By Design and Market, it's a direct competitor. Just a more expensive one.
