Maverick Xlt damaged

My XLT arrived on Tuesday. I went to the dealership Wednesday to review pricing and test drive it. I love it. I got a message Friday at noon that the storm that came through Thursday night produced hail that damaged the entire vehicle. They're having it fixed and assured me it would be good as new. My other option was to wait another three months for a cyber orange model same as mine but with a price increase. In the mean time I sold my car tentative in purchasing the new truck. I just wondered if anyone else has used the paintless dent repair.

I would go look at it before they repair so they you can see the severity of the dents.

If there are any dents on an edged surface or missing paint, PDR is not going to be enough.

There are numerous edges on the hood. This dent required a replacement hood. (Edit: there's a lot of shadows and reflections in my pic but it's one dent caused by a forearm in the center of the image. Don't even think about sitting on or leaning heavily on the hood, it's aluminum.)

Depending on how bad it is PDR can be very effective. I’ve seen jobs done by them that looked as good as new, you couldn’t see any evidence of hail damage at all.

Had a Subaru that didn’t look too bad after a hailstorm unless you looked really close. (It was at the dealer.)However, there were so many little dents that the insurance company replaced EVERY body panel on the car.

Still have people in my hood that don’t use the garage for their vehicles. It’s weird.

Hail is my worst nightmare.

Due to needing a vehicle now, you are in a bind. Will this fix go on the truck's future Carfax report? If it was me, I would have a hard time accepting this truck.

I asked and the salesman said it wouldn't. I got a screaming price on this truck so I feel like I can accept that it could've very well happened in my driveway.

the vehicle has to be registered before Carfax is aware of it.

a number of new vehicles get damaged and repaired before initial sale.

He told me it happens a lot and the customers never know. I think he was trying to gain my trust by telling me asap.

my issue would be any repaint and the removal of trim panels that most likely may not be put back correctly allowing for squeaks and rattles.....panels being replaced works for only fenders, doors and hood which the dealer most likely won't attempt.....

I’ve never had a good experience using PDR on aluminum. Even on very small dents.

I escaped any damage by quickly entering a densely wooded aIrea for cover on my way home ... risking breaking trees it was a nail biter with 60mph plus winds - - I pulled out when the storm passed - No damage - but could have been so much worse
