I'm waiting to see a bunch of the old VDOT Frontiers to be replaced by Mavericks. I can even see some of the utility locators replacing their Rangers and/or Frontiers with Mavericks, too.

My wife talked me out of white for this exact reason. She said it would look like a county service vehicle, no matter how I optioned it. As always, she was right...

The power company locators and phone company locators in my area are completely opposite in vehicle choice. One uses Mini Coopers or something similar. The other uses F-150 and F-250. The
F-250 I see more often.

If they make a two door it may become the most popular truck in the US
People keep saying that but I doubt the market for a 2 door is big enough to warrant completely retooling for a new unibody. No doubt Ford focus grouped this issue to death. They aren't going to spend a ton of money on a low demand, low profit item. You can buy a 4 door for under $20k base. That's probably good enough as far as they are concerned.

Yes, this may be the perfect vehicle for Uber and utility locators.

To a lesser degree, it may replace the Ford Ranger as being commonly used as a pilot car for escorting oversize loads.

Yeah I'm sure they will. I think the demand is there but could be wrong. The other argument is, if they don't someone else will. Plenty of people want a small truck with a large bed, that's what made the old rangers popular in the first place

That's a good point about pilot cars. The hybrid might be great for that especially with the additional power hook-up in the bed.

The single cab ranger is coming back. As a phev too. But I doubt it will be close to the Mav's price. Still fleets will have lots of options.

I’m the only Maverick owner in my area, at least based upon my browsing while driving. I was surprised when I spotted this Maverick at my neighbor’s house. It’s owned by a pest control company!

They are great work trucks for people who aren't hauling 2x4s and ten foot sheets of drywall. Those guys need a full sized truck.

I'll be putting my Maverick to use as a work truck for hauling supplies when I get it.

Yeah, but think of how easy it would have been to find parking. Just get one of those amber rotating lights for the top of the cab, park it anywhere you want and you can be sure people will assume you belong there.
