I would definitely like the added ground clearance of the Ranger but more than that, I just wish the bed was at least 5 feet, that would actually make a big difference as this Photoshop stretch shows.
Ford Maverick Maverick vs Ranger 5 foot bed

I agree. A 5 foot bed and 5,000lb tow capacity would be perfect!

The bed is fine for me. I wouldn't want to sacrifice turning diameter, maneuverability, payload or crestover angle, which you would by increasing wheelbase or extending the bed. Or take away interior space to accommodate a longer bed. I would like to see towing increased to 5000lbs not only for customer satisfaction but to be competitive with other manufacturers. Also would like to see telescoping mirrors for towing wide trailers. That being said it's a great truck and the article express's that. Keep in mind it doesn't show the improvements to both models in the 2025 model year. Still shows a glance of the difference but wouldn't suggest thinking numbers for mpg, cost, payload is the same, especially with the 2025 Maverick offering AWD with the hybrid.

Thanks for posting looking forward to see if they compare the 2025 model year.

I like. I'd even be willing for a SuperCab like my old Ranger

I would like somethings of the ranger too, but I'm getting old, so when is time to wash the truck the ranger gonna be a litle bit more complicated.
But for the right price I'm all ears.

The Mav is meant to be a small truck, plain and simple. That's what you buy it for. It's not a Ranger or an F150. They also exist for a reason, otherwise Ford would just make one model.

I like the Rangers. I think they are still a bit too round but it's not a bad design.

I'd never buy one for the cost they want now days. I'd rather get a used low mileage still under warranty full size. Especially considering what they did to that screen and controls for HVAC. It's awful. We need to start tar and feathering these designers... or just stop buying them; that seems simpler and of worse punishment.

I honestly don't blame the designers on this one so much as c-suite making demands.

As is mentioned above. The Maverick is not comparable to a Ranger. I traded the Ranger I had because I didn't want it. If you want a bigger bed and more ground clearance then get the Ranger or F-150. However, that comes with a price difference, the Ranger is now north of $50K to buy.

You can get a 4x4 XL Ranger with tow package and locking rear for under $40k.

We bought a '23 Ranger last May when we were looking for a Maverick. We had it 6 months. When we took the Ranger in for service in November, there were 2 hybrid Mavericks on the lot that were cancelled orders. We came home with one of them. Much happier with our little truck! The mileage is Great!
