Haven’t seen any comparison between the Maverick and the new Nissan Frontier. Nissan offering some large discounts from MSRP. It would seem to be more of a challenge for the Ranger than the Maverick.

No hybrid though, so only competes w/EB.

Yea, mid size truck range - and no hybrid.

The only real competition the Maverick has in it's smaller category are the Hyundai Santa Cruz and Honda Ridgeline currently.

Anything else is an on frame mid sized truck.

It competes with the Taco, Colorado and Ranger. It is not a peer of the Maverick.

I swapped about a month ago. Both nice in their own way but not direct competitors

How’s the rear seat room in it compared to the Maverick?

Better in my opinion and my teenage kids have said the same. Haven’t actually taken measurements or anything and obviously looks can be deceiving (like the Mav actually being bigger than the previous Ranger inside). When test driving, I set the drivers seat to my position and jump in the back and noticed more space between my knees and the seat. Frontier seats are also more comfortable to me

I actually looked hard at the Nissan Frontier, loved the front seats, V6 and interior dash (knobs & buttons). What I didn't like: rear bottom seat angle - caused leg fatigue and less leg room than the Maverick, style and look of the running boards, gas mileage but it is a V6. If the Frontier had a bit more leg room in the back and the seat angle was better supporting of your legs, I would have bought it. Specifically I was looking at the Pro4X. Have a Tremor on order.

That's interesting as all the reviews I have watched have said the rear seat room is not that great on the Frontier or Tacoma with the Ranger having the best. Though they say the Maverick beats them all.

im sure the improvement is marginal at best and it’s not like I spend any time back there so I don’t really pay that much attention to it. For sure better than new Tacoma, which I took a quick look at since it was next door. If my kids say it’s fine, that’s all I needed. At their age, they’re spending less and less time in my car anyway.

I don’t care for the way the new Ranger looks in anything below the Raptor and my Ford dealer didn’t want to budge on the Raptor they’ve had sitting so I walked away from that option since it was already way more than I need. I got the Pro-4x very solidly under sticker and with really good trade value for my nearly 3yr old 36k mile Maverick.

The maverick is a better car. The frontier is a better truck. They aren't in the same class anyway. I really like the frontier and would rather have had the v6 than a turbo 4 but to get a crew cab 4wd with a moon roof would have cost me $10k more.

I have a friend who has a new Frontier, it's a nice truck, but it rides very rough & is very thirsty, interior noise is very high, at 75mph you have to talk very loud, we used it to haul a double snowmobile trailer a couple times, it does this very well.

Rear seat legroom on Maverick and Ridgeline are comparable. Unibody more space efficient. Tacoma, Frontier, Ranger are comparable, and all have less legroom than Maverick and Ridgeline.
