Exiting truck and the upper hinge (hooked door stop) of the driver's side passenger door keeps hooking/snagging my jackets/shirts.

Yeah, I'm not "rubbing" against it. Just getting in/out of a vehicle like I've done for the better part of half a century...no other vehicle I've ever noticed has a dorky hook at the edge of a doorway.

Going with the rubber cap suggestion.

FWIW, looking at mine, only the bottom one is actually doing all the work, the upper one could be eliminated.

Best part it's cheap, it's easy and no permanent alterations to a safety feature.
I would certainly try the rubber cap first. To see if it works and how well it works before I'd start hacking away at the truck.

That exact one would get absolutely crushed...but if there were a rubber wiper version of if that stayed inside...like on an elevator, LOL. Too much work.
