Maverick Tremor towed 1755lbs (boat/motor/trailer)

Picked up my boat Saturday! 3 hour drive each way. No major issues. I know technically a bit over 2k when you add the weight of me my passenger, my HD cover, tools, etc... Rear sagged a bit, but not too bad.

Towed the first hour with the seats up.... Was only getting 11 mpg. Next hour got 14 mpg. After I stopped for gas and put in premium I was up to 16mpg. Live and learn I guess lol.

I also learned I could easily remove the windshield on my boat(only way for the cover to fit). I'm sure leaving that off until I get to the lake will help mpgs as well.

I took it out for a maiden voyage the next day. Fully loaded with gear and used a very steep launch and it pulled it outta the water with ease!

I got the Timbren Suspension Enchancement System to help with the Tremors soft rear suspension. It was very easy to install and should help with the sag. I wanted to go with an airbag system but apparently there aren't any that will fit the Tremor. I have yet to tow since installing it. I will keep ya updated on how much it helps.

Yeah, but is it in the 1755lbs that the dealer said is the weight? Or is 1755lbs without gas? I guess I would have to get it weighed to find out? As long as I'm not having issues towing I probably don't have to worry too much.

I can’t say with absolute certainty for your boat, but most manufacturers list the weight as “dry weight“ meaning it doesn’t include gas. I would also check to be sure that 1,755 lbs includes your trailer and motor as well. It may not. as you mention, the safest way to know is to go get it weighed with it set up exactly how you will tow it. Congrats on the new boat!

I am not sure if it was already mentioned, but if not, I would definitely add the transmission cooler to your Tremor - or any truck that didn't come with 4k towing. It should not be terribly expensive from a good Ford dealership, or you could look into an independent doing it if you provide parts, or there's always DIY.

Trailer brake controller could be added on also, but honestly, if I only pick one... it's the trans cooler for sure.

The Tremor comes with a heavy duty trans cooler already. No need for a brake controller if the trailer I have doesn't have brakes...

That's right. I was thinking of FX4, it does not have the cooler.

I have successfully towed our camper, which is about 3200 pounds loaded with my tremor.
there is an airbag setup that will fit it from airlift Technologies, I paid about a 120 bucks for mine off Amazon. slipped right in the coil Springs No problem now when I hook my camper up, I have about an inch of sag in the suspension When I have 30 psi in the bags

Good to know there is an airbag setup for the Tremor.

Did you install the air bags your self? How long did it take to install them?
Maybe you could make a post reviewing the airbag setup?

I did do the install myself. I would say it took about an hour. The most difficult part was trying to slide the bags in between the coil Springs, but if you squeeze all the air out of them, put the rubber cap back on, you can slip them in from the top and pull them down... It never occurred to me, but a review write up is definitely a good idea. I've been having a problem uploading pictures If that is solved, I will definitely do it

I went and picked this up last week, about 4 hours away. Have to say, pretty impressed by the Maverick Tremor.

That's right. I was thinking of FX4, it does not have the cooler.

FX4 with 4K towing has the transmission cooler, same as any other EcoBoost Maverick with 4K. The FX4 package is not a factor.

I hear you, in that FX4 and 4K towing are now tied together. In 22 & 23 they were not and there are definitely some FX4 trucks that do not have 4K towing.

Yes, that is true for 22-24 actually. The transmission cooler is tied to the the 4K package in all cases.

I see, I suppose you meant to say that the cooler isn't included in the FX4 option package in your original statement. I interpreted your “FX4“ as "FX4 trucks“ which of course would be false in the case of those with 4K.

yes. more specifically I was explaining why I forgot that Tremor does have a transmission cooler. (Tremor also has a PTU / center differential cooler.)

back to the OP's point, personally I think with the helper airbags a Tremor would tow well.

It does quite well with a set of airbags.It made all the difference
