Maverick tailgate lettering

I’m about to order the Maverick letters for the tailgate and wonder how difficult it is to apply them. I see that you can have them applied at Ford for a cost but it seems like it should be fairly easy? (I installed my own tonneau cover! )

They're literally just stickers! Couldn't be easier to install. Just make sure to wipe down the area prior to install to get a solid adhesion.

Yep. Easy peasy. Just make sure you buy some quality stickers like TufSkins or similar.

When you apply them, just touch them very lightly to the surface of the tailgate. That will give you enough adhesion to keep them in place, but also will allow you to adjust them slightly for alignment. Then, once they're aligned to your liking, apply force to them for final adhesion.

I recommend Tufskinz as well.

I did my own. Went the Etsy route and it worked well!

Watch some YouTube videos first. I used the spray bottle with alcohol and water method, this allows much more adjustment time.

Very easy. Just make sure the area is clean. I thought I wanted raised chrome lettering, but black raised lettering would have been a better choice. Each of the chrome letters has multi-faceted surfaces and depending on the light and view area, they all won't view equally.

Wipe the area with a paper towel and rubbing alcohol to remove any wax etc. Dry w/ a clean paper towel. Then peal & stick.

Isopropyl Alch on a Microfiber to Clean it well.
Then Dry microfiber after.
I wouldn't use paper, personally.

I suggest doing 'dry fits' , especially for the funny ones, like the 'E" and "M" .
Just make sure they are mostly aligned as you lay them into the grooves. Before applying pressure.

After they are placed, then 'rub' over them with a microfiber to apply further pressure to get them 'seated' fully.

I suggest starting with the "I' because its the easiest to get a feel for the process.
