Good morning. So I have a question for those with a sunroof and sliding rear window.

When the windows are down, sunroof and back window open, how OPEN does the cab feel?

I would LOVE a Bronco or Wrangler for the removable top but can't justify spending that much on a vehicle that gets worse mileage than my current one.

Thought about a Mustang convertible but I lose a seat and have the potential for a dangerous winter vehicle.

So next best thing is a Maverick with a bunch of holes in the cab! I know it's not the same as a vehicle with a removable roof, but does it at least make you feel less confined?

I'll sell you my Renegade with the removable roof panels when my truck shows up. I'm only a few hours north of you.

Would be awesome down the road if Ford gives the Mav a panoramic roof option and full roll down rear window!

With all windows down/open it will feel as open as it gets on any pickup truck. More so than a sedan/SUV because of the rear sliding window. The interior of the Maverick is also rather roomy and doesn't feel all that cramped in the front seats at least.

It won't be anywhere near a Jeep/Bronco...I know the feeling.

Note: I noticed on the Maverick there does seem to be more wind noise/turbulence than my Fusion or than my previous F150 when you have the sunroof open and either the rear window or windows cracked a bit.

It feels very open. Next best thing to being in a bronco or wrangler.

I just wish all truck manufacturers would copy the tundra and give us the whole back window to roll down.

I would love the Tundra roll down back window, then I remember I've had pickups where somehow the of the bed got somehow got hit hard enough (probably some druken quad loading) that it dented in enough that it hit the cab and dented that as well.

I'd hate to deal with a stuck or busted rear window if that happened.

I know it won't be the same sadly, which is why I have to settle for close enough.

Sadly future plans include a 350 and a camper after a year or 2 of owning the Maverick, and no way can we justify 4 new vehicles. A Bronco just might not ever be in my future.

As someone who has owned many convertibles, nothing matches that top down feeling. Not just the rush of the wind, but the heat of the sun upon you.

No fixed top vehicle will ever duplicate that feeling. You might look at purchasing an old cheap Miata (which I’ve never owned) for summer time cruising, and garage it the rest of the year.

Better yet a cheap old mustang.

Problem is I have no where to store those vehicles when not being daily driven. My driveway is so steep that anything but a 4x4 vehicle will bottom out.

I'd pay extra for both of those options. I have the sunroof but skipped the rear window because I thought the frame would block the view, and couldn't see how I would use the manual open/close since it's not reachable from driver seat.

I did not order the window because it is embarassingly small and of little use for the expense. I was very disappointed when I saw that. I likesliders in the rear window, or a full crank down.

My XL does not have a sunroof or rear window but you I can not roll any windows down at speed without very strong wind buffeting. I hope the A/C never fails or I am out of luck.

Open air driving is overrated. Noisy. Hated the top off.

First this is not a convertible - my S2000 is a convertible I want the top down 100% - the Maverick is not this. BUT - we had a Honda Ridgeline with a moonroof we never opened. Black Edition so the entire interior was dark and while moonroof opened it up…really did not feel as open as the Maverick.

Our XLT Maverick has the moonroof and we love it. When cruising anywhere under 45 - we open the moonroof even in Florida heat. With the white interior and the positioning over the front seats this really does open up the cabin even more. We almost always also throwback the Sunshade when raining or driving on highway. We were torn on getting moonroof but for us - could not be happier with our choice and if had a chance to do again - for us is must have. The Rear Window? We go it for our dog and when driving with windows down. Would strongly prefer for it to be power (not an option on XLT) - but prefer to have it and use it than not.

Good luck - really enjoying the truck.
