I attending a very large IT conference, and during a Q&A session, I stood to ask a question. We were told that when the microphone got to us, we were to introduce ourselves and describe our company before asking the question - presumably to give the responders some context for the question.

When I got the mike, I stated my name, and announced that I worked for the worlds largest chip maker - the one with over 70% global market share, and paused briefly for that to be absorbed... There was a gasp of disbelief - you could almost hear the thoughts in the room... "Over 70% market share in the chip industry? Who the heck is that? Nobody has that kind of dominance, not even Intel...") Then I continued "... and Frito-Lay would like to know..." The rest of my question was drowned out by the roar of laughter.

Computer geeks apparently like both chips and puns...
