I hear ya! I had vein surgery in my right leg earlier this year. The surgeon was telling me that he wasn't sure if he'd be using a replacement vein harvested from my arm or if he'd use an artificial one. I told him, "I just turned 70, I don't care which you use as long as it has at least a 30 year warranty!" He used the artificial.

Oh how true. My dad died at 46, I was just 12. My mom passed at 78, the longest living in all her family. My wife and I were born same day, 8 hours apart in time, different states. Jan will be our 59th anniversary, a treasure. Each day is a gift.

My maternal grandfather who drank 3 bottles of whiskey a week, grew his own tobacco and smoked it, had bacon and eggs with gravy every morning, had 1 kidney left after having kidney cancer in his 60s died just a couple of weeks before his 89 birthday. He woke up in the middle of the night and called my mom and her siblings to say he was dying. The day before he mowed his 2 acre yard with an old manual rotary mower. I want to break his record but I can't drink that much

Interesting point of view. Since your date is set why do all the things you do to remain healthy and prolong your life? You could play Russian roulette with all chambers filled and survive correct? I do not subscribe to the predetermined demise theory. But if you do I support your belief.
