Maverick Hybrid rodent issues

We had rodent issues and they fixed the chewed wires on my husbands hybrid maverick. The car was driven back to us a 30 minute drive, next day my husband went to a doctors appointment and on the way home the pull over safely alert came on and the car was dead on the road. They needed a special tow because they couldn't move the car. The car has now been at the dealer for more than a week and they can't seem to find any more damage hjowever they are still saying it is rodent damage as the engine had droppings on it. At this point we feel like they don't want to honor the warranty and are Tring to find some other evidence of rodent damage?

Peppermint repells the chewers. Home Depot sells it in a bottle I think, grocery stores have it.
Mice totaled my buddies 2022 Crosstrek Subaru.
I drive mine often,
Park it out in the open in the sun. No bushes, wood piles, trees or woods within 25 feet.
My buddy, under a carport under trees. Shady and cozy= dead Subi.

Park over a bowl of antifreeze. Deadly to everything that can crawl under your car and they love its sweet taste.
Mice, Rats, Squirrels, cats, and Coons,
Dead !

I tried that but the coyotes ate the cat. So I trained the dog to go after mice. The dog eloped with the coyote.

I had my 2022 HYBRID Maverick under coted a couple years back with some oily grease type stuff. Done in Canada.
Had my 2016 and 2004 F series trucks under coted as well used two unique brands . No issues with the RATS! Live in Tucson AZ lots of Pack Rats here. Anybody else have the same results?

Rodent damage is not covered under warranty.

The previous repairs should have gone through your car insurance under the Comprehensive coverage, subject to your deductible.

If there are still issues related to that prior rodent damage, your car insurance should be notified so it can be looked at as part of the original claim. The repair shop could submit what's called a supplement to your insurance company; having it all as 1 claim still.
No additional cost and no additional deductible.

Plus, if you have rental vehicle coverage on your car insurance, that should be available starting when the car was towed.

If you are paying out of pocket for a rental, send the receipt afterwards to your insurance for review and reimbursement (subject to your policy limits).

If you're not using a rental or have another vehicle, you can ask your car insurance for a "cash out" of your rental coverage.
When the claim is resolved/repairs finished, the car insurance will know how many days of rental was authorized.
Then multiply your daily rental rate times the days (Example: 14 days repair at $60 a day rental is $840).
Usually, no rental receipt is required for a cash out request. Even if you didn't use a rental, you paid for the coverage.

^^^ this is the answer. If there's evidence of rodent damage and the problem relates to the wiring harness, the dealership is being reasonable.

Of course, if one of your wheel bearings was shot, or some other part was failing early unrelated to wiring, that would be a pile of BS.
