Maverick Delivered With Paint Chip

The dealer contacted me this morning to tell me my Maverick arrived. However it has a paint chip on the rear door. They will send it out for repair but they advised against having the entire door stripped and repainted. They said it never looks the same. They advised having it touched up. What is the collective wisdom on repairing this? I’ve waited 9 months and now this. I’m not happy!

A repair should be okay, it's been done literally millions of times with success. Nice that it was caught by them and they let you know instead of finding out after you got home. Check the rest of the Maverick good for chips

if they allow you to accept or reject the repair then tell them ok
newly painted truck, easy to paint match for a competent paint shop.

It happens. A couple of vehicles ago mine was damaged by the truck transport. Sales manager pulled parts off of stock new vehicles so I wouldn't have to wait for parts.

They are just saying to touch it up to avoid needing to paint it. such a small chip in the location it is should be an easy blend without needing to paint any adjacent panels. it doesn't need to be stripped. Get them to fix it properly
