Chipped paint, rust on a garage kept Maverick Hybrid with only 6000 miles???

Thanks for the replies. I think I will contact Ford. There is no reason for the paint to chip off as easy as it does on both the metal frame and rims of the tires. I cant believe it is rusting after just 6000 miles and almost never being out in the weather. I have a 2015 Chevy Volt with 120k miles and the paint job is much better. I replaced a 2003 Ford Sport Trac with 140k miles and the Maverick is already in worse shape than both of those other vehicles.
