As a gen Z, I can say people my age are having other priorities such as just affording rent, so a new car, even financed with zero down isn't on people's list of needs. If they are looking it's generally something in the low 20k mark like most budget friendly sedans, or the complete opposite...
How long is your commute? I had a 4 mile city drive and was averaging 18-19mpg. No amount of conservative driving will help with short drives like that. Highway that would jump up to 28ish
My old 23' was an xl ecoboost with zero options, they said my order was probably going to be rolled into a 24 since I placed the order In early 23, So I took what I could get at the time and I think that's why I traded it in. I wanted the heated seats and steering wheel and hybrid the most...
So I was pretty deadset on my XLT hybrid order and am waiting patiently to sell my current car. When of course marketplace shows me a rebuilt 22 xl hybrid with 100k km (60k miles) for 22.5 Canadian, (15,700 usd) private sale.
Rebuilt title doesn't scare me, I work in the industry and know how...
I did.
Maybe not 100% because it was an xl but an EcoBoost as well. My 23 hybrid XLT lux order was likely going to be rolled into a 24 and I was impatient so I bought what I could get ahold of. That was a white xl ecoboost, at the cost of features I really wanted such as heated seats, steering...
Well it's official, almost. I got them to go down on the price of the wrangler instead of raising the trade it to save on tax reasons, straight trade before the doc fee. They gave me 38k for the Maverick. Likely will see it for sale around 44-45k. Had I had the money I would have paid it off...
Ironically the truck in the photo sold today and I was talking to the new owners who where interested in my rack. The dealer took it in on Sunday and it sold yesterday so there is obviously still a demand for even the EcoBoosts that people will pay 8k over mrsp.
This dealership offered 38k...
Yea I accidentally clicked the value my trade like through the listing which instantly told them I was interested in that, I'm not completely dead set on it yet and would take it to a few other dealers, just trying to get some numbers thrown out
I'm sure there aren't many of you but I'm playing with the idea and upgrading to a JL wrangler, something a little nicer, more features and more capable for my intentions. Although I want to know, what was your trade in value? Any mods when you traded it in?
The dealership Ive been in contact...
Factories do as much as possible to save on paint, stuff is expensive. Likely sprayed very lightly on that portion. Good thing It's not really seen much
They are rated for 250 lbs each, although I mounted them horizontally so that's gone down quite a bit. with the water and battery weight being so far back and supported by a little 1" scrap piece at the end of the tailgate it seems plenty sturdy though.
Had I thought I would end up using...
I just tapped one of the lower tie down holes for a m8 bolt and it is secured at the front only. There is enough weight and friction from the sibl it doesn't move at all. It's mostly there to keep it from flipping forward when extended
After the first trip a couple weekends ago I decided I wanted a proper kitchen, especially considering there won't be many tables or spots to cook along service roads. I didn't need anything specific but wanted a sink, pressurized water and storage for pots, pans, etc.
With some rough...
Did some electrical and finished with cutting out the 'sink' hole, little water pump works great! The switch panel was taken from the bed plate I installed earlier. Guess I need to get a storage cubby to replace that now. Yes I know it's crooked I cut the hole a little too big for the screws...
