Wanted a small utility trailer to use mainly for hauling lawn/landscaping stuff when we trim our many plants or I have to bag my lawn when it's too long and to provide extra carrying room if we get what is too much for the Mav bed alone.

Northern Tool had one to assemble for 350.00. Weight load, 1062lbs. Frame dimensions 40" wide and 48" long.

Because frame was black and wheels white with the typical black/red stripes on wheel I planned on white sides/front and found white paintable PVC boards that go around a garage door for trim as the front and sides to make it "match" the Mav's white with black trim and red taillights. May try to paint the PVC trim to better match this winter.

Painted the exterior plywood floor black. The sides have thumb screws through the holes in the stake pockets to hold sides in place but still removable. Hinged the front and back to fold inward for longer loads and held in place by black barrel latches when up. Whether with front and back down or up the sides are kept in position with two "bows" using screen door turnbuckles.

My dad had something about the same size but red, when we upgraded our 80s station wagon to a Taurus wagon. Much smaller inside and no roof rack!

Excellent! I've had the same trailer kit in my barn for 4 years and never put it together. Now I think I will!

I'm wondering if our new Mav can handle this. Just kidding. Bought the diesel X 4x4 new in 2004 and it's been my trusted hauler ever since. Towed our 35' travel trailer all over the country. Paid the same for this as the new Lariat Hybrid.

LOL @ the Home Depot trailer that's great

Honestly though it was built to withstand years of abuse on the commercial side, that was a great buy. Plus probably easily rebuildable.

Paid 1000$ for it. 5x8 steel wall trailers are like 3-5k$. It's been a great buy! All I did was grease the wheel bearings and a little wiring repair.

That's cool. But you'll have to put the stripes on the trailer like your maverick to have them match!🤣

Pretty solid trailer for light use, I think.
A few pointers!!!
1. The provided instructions on mine were not that well done. You need to do some thinking between the lines.
2. REALLY IMPORTANT!!! Tighten all of the frame bolts slowly as you make sure the frame is square by measuring several times corner to corner both ways. It can easily be not square.
3. To register and license it if you have to do so in NC: In Indiana the "Certificate of Origin" that comes with it is like the title. I has on it the VIN number and I had to have the "seller" (Northern Tool) fill it out on the back to show it was "sold" to me and I paid sales tax, and I had to sign it as purchaser, similar transfer of title for a car.
4. Also, in Indiana anyway, if I did not license it within 45 days of purchase, like it is with any vehicle, I would have had to pay a "penalty." Since it has been 4 years might you have to do so?
5. I would speak with your BMV or DMV, whatever it is called in NC.
6. FINALLY! To sit decently level I had to get a 6 inch drop hitch.
7. And, forgot to do so originally so this editing includes an attached pdf of assembly instructions that are MUCH better!

I looked for a used trailer but could not find one that would have worked, beside the standard wire mesh ones. Besides, I like this one because being small I can park it in the front of the our third garage stall and we can still get by it, and I designed it to take the sides off and fold the front and back down so with the tongue up and the back of the frame down I can lean it up against a wall in that third stall to be out of the way and not interfere with all the patio stuff and the big potted plants we bring in and keep there for the winter!
