I am very interested in the Mabett Side Marker Lights but in checking amazon, there were quite a few reviews talking about moisture getting into the lense and shorting out the lights. Is that a real problem, or just Amazon reviews being Amazon reviewers?

Looking for an honest review (and no insult to Amazon, but I've had a couple of bad experiences and the reviews).

Dang - when I searched all I got was advertisements, for the most part. Gotta work in my search game.
And thanks. I appreciate the direction (down 😉)

I have not had any problems with moisture on the pair I installed. I did seal the mounting nut on the back of each light as recommended..

Winter is coming so I will know better how they withstand the rain.

Also, they function as advertised and I like the look of them.

Mabett has updated their side marker lights. They say they've have engineered and corrected some of their past mistakes.

They have also made them Plug and Play
I am waiting for a video to see what they look like in action.

I am very happy with mine. A common problem is moisture getting inside. My first set did this. Amazon allowed an exchange. I sealed the second set before installing. Remove the screws holding the black frame on. Seal all seams and screws hole and reassemble. It is cheap insurance. My set has not leaked after doing this. Be sure to get good connections to the wiring harness. The added blinker visibility is great.

My first set passenger side took on moisture and the LED stopped working. When I got the replacement set I removed all 4 screws and put black silicon around the outer edge, once dry once I put the screws back in and I also put black silicon over all 4 screws. Since doing this probably back in July now I have had none of the moisture problems. However the ones listed on amazon now say upgraded and now waterproof so this procedure may not be needed. They were also $90 when I bought them and now they are $60. Many people complained about the plastic zebra center so I covered it with a wrap. I will attach pictures of them wrap on my XL and on my current Lariat. Also Mabett just announced a newer version coming out in late December902 as well. I love the fender lights I think they look sharp and add some nice side light as well.

I’m also one of those who paid $90, I never had a problem with moisture. I painted mine. I masked it off, added news paper all around.

That looks really good, much better than my wrap method. Thanks for sharing.

I have them for a year now and no issues so far. Lights still functioning. So I would highly recommend.

First set one failed and cycled continuously ....then I noticed they both had moisture in them a month later. DId not even last a year. Replaced with a set for $45. If this set fails I am done buying any more Mabett products for Mavericks. I suspect this set will fail to given enough time. The consumer should not have to pull apart a new product to waterproof it if it is being installed in an auto that can sit outside in the rain.
