Greetings to all,

i purchased a 2022 maverick hybrid Lariat first edition back in 2022.

I am writing to see if there are other owners of maverick with lumbar support continuously protruding and pushing against my back. (this happens even when the setting is all the way back meaning it should not push against my back.)

I took it to a ford Dealer and they say this is notmal, but i am 100% certain it is not. I am to the point of selling the maverick as it is a major comfort issue for me. I constantly need to be repositioning my driving position to make it through my drives. I called Ford customer care and they said they would open a feedback ticket, but really this just requires a seat swap from ford as im almost certain it was a defect in the manufacturing. Anybody have a tio on how to make ford fix this issue. it is still under the 3 year full warranty period

Definitely is a lumbar bulge in the Maverick seats. I find it quite comfortable and my Civic (without any lumbar) felt caved in.

It's a personal choice really. I fit in Ford. Dad fits in Chevy. We'll never see eye to eye on it.

No issues for my back on my 2022. Not a fan of the short seat depth or lack of an independent angle adjustment, though.

Agreed on both.
I don't have to use the lumbar inflation at all and there still is a little bit of a bulge.
I own a 2023 XLT Lux.

People want to complain about buttons BUT THIS is the real bullshit with the Mavericks!!!

Not specific to Ford or the Maverick I've never understood why manufacturers don't make tilt/telescoping leather (or vinyl) wrapped wheels standard in all vehicles - as well as power adjustable driver seats with lumbar (just give me the old lever from nissan/honda 90s cars). If a driver can't get comfortable in your car they aren't going to buy it.

I don't have any issues with it but I have it almost completely deflated. IMO, they always put those things too low. I need it to be about two to three inches higher.

I have my lumbar support filled until it stops filling and it seems perfect for me. I think Bob is taller than I am though. I can definitely tell when mine gets accidentally deflated. I have always preferred extra lumbar support and use pillows in the small of my back on sofas. Something like Ikea's Poang chair feels perfect for me though, as does the old school La-Z-boy chairs.

Question for Droski, is this something you have noticed since it was new, or is it an issue that has started to bother you recently? If it is something recent, I suspect there is a problem. Maybe the check valve is stuck and it can't deflate? Maybe the switch is stuck to +?

I have never used the inflatable lumbar supports in any of my vehicles I just find them uncomfortable when they are inflated.

One reason I bought a Lariat was because of the various "upgrades" including adjustable seat / steering wheel. Not overly happy with the seat. Ended up buying a tapered seat cushion to finally get comfortable. As some posted, lumbar is OK, but would be nice if it was higher.

I wish you could move the lumbar up and down like in a Chevy (ewww, I can't believe I just said that), but instead of the lumbar switch being front to back it also would rock up and down and allow you to move that support vertically.

I didn't even think to check this. I thought, "Oh! I'm spending 33k on the TOP TRIM and it's got an 8-way adjustable seat. Fancy!"

Oops. Doesn't even have the basic seat bottom functionality of my old 2002 Accord LX. 🤣

You can include my old 1996 Chrysler Town and Country LXi or my 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac those were comfortable seats.
The power seat on the Maverick is pathetic. Not a very well padded seat bottom either.

I tried mine before I signed the papers and it worked fine for me. Maybe you could go to a dealer and sit in one on the lot if they have one to see if there’s a difference.

hello there-
I have an XLT'22 and the lack of lumbar disappointed me(the one thing i didn't think of when ordering).the XLT has a 5 rung lumbar(not adjustable) so I ordered the 7 rung that comes with the upgrade from XLT,installed it,bolstered it and found my "sweet" spot.Maybe you need a 5 rung lumbar?

Me: '24 Lariat [hybrid but that is irrelevant to this post] = Have you tried cycling the lumbar button a few times - fully forward for max support, then fully back for minimum? Also, have you adjusted the seatback angle for minimum pressure on your lumbar, then adjust the steering wheel up/down then either towards you or away from you to achieve a comfortable positon for your reach?

I'm 5'10" and normal build. I find the Lariat seat good. I specifically wanted a power adjustable seat because I do micro adjustments on longer drives to change pressure points.
