Dose anyone else feels cheated as Ford has removed standard features on Lariat maverick models.
I purchased a 2022 Maverick Lariat FX4 and absolutely loved the truck. I liked is so much that l purchased a 23 Maverick Lariat Hybrid, I like the Lariat for all the features that it brings to the truck. I believe that Ford has a great little truck in the Maverick but l really missed the all wheel drive on my Maverick that I decided to order a 24 Lariat FX4 because I loved my first truck so much.
Before I placed my order l read here on Maverick Truck club that Ford was going remove some features on the Lariat model. I was very disappointed that the body color mirrors , heater wipers and the Door Entry Key pad would no longer be on the truck. The Lariat is the Premium Maverick model and should have all these features .Ford offers factory door key pads on multiple lower trip models as standard equipment. THE Door Key Pad has been on Ford and Lincoln vehicles since the 1980 s and No other manufacture offers it. l read that , again here of Maverick Truck Club that Ford had so many complaints about the Keypad that they had decided to offer it as a dealer installed option. I also remember reading years ago that Ford had conducted a focus group to remove the. Key pad but also had so much negative feedback that they scrapped the idea. I saw that Ford offers a wired in key pad for the Explorer , Escape and the Bronco Sport. So l ordered my 2024 Maverick Lariat FX4 with the dealer installed door key pad. (The truck l ordered was $3500 more than my 22 with less features.) This is where my disappointment with Maverick starts . I received my truck and picked my key pad and it was a stick on unit that looks a auto parts add on unit ( a note as well when the battery goes bad you have to replace the whole unit.) If Ford is listening bring back the hard wire door entry key pad , with the Maverick price increase in the last 2 years it should be on the truck. l have had multiple Ford vehicles , my wife has a Hybrid Escape , my F150 XLT has the door key pad. I hope to read here on Maverick Truck Club that Ford is listening to its customers and is bringing back the hard wire door key pad .

I hear ya. I just took delivery of my Maverick Lariat FX4 featured on my avatar. If there's one gripe I have with it is the lack of that keypad. I used that feature more than I thought I would. I understood the practicality of having it and why so many Ford, Mercury, and Lincoln enthusiasts loved it. They have a lot of nerve to charge more and offer less. In a world that actually cares, if they removed features, they would've lowered the price. But in today's world of crazy inflation and corporate greed, of course that's just not gonna happen.

Not only that, a simple feature that I enjoyed was the digital temperature readout on the climate controls. Now it's just a stupid thermostat icon and the temperature only displays temporarily on the infotainment screen. I will say at least the black mirrors are painted. If they had gone to bare plastic, I would've really been pissed. That definitely would've felt like a downgrade. The heated wipers I don't really need in South Florida but I could see it being a problem in colder climates. Don't get me wrong, I still love the truck but it is a shame to have the price not reflect the lack of features. And surely the refreshed 25MY is gonna have more features but an even further price increase! Ugh!

I've owned a 2002 Explorer since 2008 and never used the keypad. I have the keypad on my 2023 FX4 and so far have only used the keypad to see if it worked.

For me the keypad is a not an issue but I do understand that some may feel differently.

You're so disappointed but you gave Ford your money for it. Your wallet speaks louder than your typing on the internet. If it really mattered to you, you would have just bought a used 22 or 23 or kept what you had.

The keypad was not on my list of accessories when building my Maverick on Ford.com. When I pivoted and purchased one off the lot, it came with the keypad and I figured I would never use it. Fast forward to yesterday. The kid has the keyfob and I'm at the truck 10 min earlier than we had planned. In the rain. I have to admit, it was one of those "this is so cool" moments.

Ford seriously underestimated the demand for the Maverick and the slow startup at the assembly plant in Mexico...then supply constraints meant they couldn't keep the price down and still provide all the bells and whistles. I mean, the hybrid model (the very reason why the Maverick skyrocketed in popularity in 2022) is now optional and (naturally) has increased in price; the feeling is that Ford is trying to increase production by shaving off features...some of them are the very features that folks are buying Mavericks to get. All that aside, I love my '24 XLT and enjoy getting behind the wheel every day.

Of all of my favorite features on my 22 maverick EBFX4 the keypad is definitely in the top five. Being able to leave my keys hidden in the truck when I go surfing probably one of my most used features. I think Ford let many people down with that change. I think the stick on one looks aftermarket and cheap. Still, I'm a huge fan of the Maverick, and it would not deter me, but it is a bummer.

I hate the looks of the keypad and never use it. I say good riddance it makes the truck look like a '90s Lincoln or Mercury. Unfortunately, I can't get rid of the keypad since there would be a hole in the door. I wish it was a stick on unit as it would have been gone the first week. I got a Fob with a backup key how many more ways do you need to get in the truck?

I think I've used the keypad everyday that I've had the Maverick. Best $200 adder ever.
same here. I use as a work truck with tool bags on the backseat. I’m in and out of the back doors all day and use the keypad constantly. This is my first Ford and so had no prior experience with keypad entry and I absolutely love this feature.

A body shop can easily remove the hole in the door if it's really unwanted. My wife loves the keypad. I not only have never used it but I never even look at it and actually do not remember seeing it.
