Anyone else have a tail light that keeps popping out? Mine would pop into place and it keeps coming back out every time I would drive it. now it won’t even stay in.

Yes, many people suffer this after they switch out their tail lights to LED bulbs. There are two plastic "barb" style fittings that help hold it in. They go in at an angle that points directly at the opposite front corner of the bed of the truck. Basically at about a 45 degree angle from looking at it from the back of the truck or the side of the truck. If that makes sense... If you pull out or push in the housing from the "rounded corner"/center point of the taillight housing, that is the direction the barbs go.

You can try to loosen the washer/bolt that holds it in, push it in tight, then tighten the washer/bolt. I have heard that over-tightening the washer/bolt can make it pop out again, so you need to find the sweet spot where it is tight, but not over-tight.

Hi there, Ezra. This tail light concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Maverick. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.

OMG, I have the exact same issue. I have contacted Tommie Vaughn Ford in Houston about it. Mine are loose on both sides.

VIN 3FTTW8E3XPRA55577, just took delivery on July 21, and haven't changed anything on the taillights.

Yep that’s the same exact issue. I have an appointment on Monday morning. I’ll report back on what happens

Let's us know if they replace the clips and it solves it!

Were you able to get yours fixed ? My passenger side has same issue and honestly dread going to dealer. August delivery.

Couple things I noticed on mine. I can pop it back in but visually it looks like top of light is clashing with outer panel meaning that clip retention is fighting with panel interference which would make sense as I am seeing something similar as seen in your pictures. Post alignment is off center from clip hole. I know photo might be skewed but mine looks similar.

I haven't messed with it yet but I wonder if removing bedside bolts (assuming holes are oversized) , popping light back in and then tightening it back up will help the issue.

If clips are replaced and it's staying put, but you see basically full contact with panel somewhere could create unwanted paint wear.

Driver side no issue and pretty consistent gap between panel and light all around.

It works better if you push it back in from the back end of the light, rather than the side. My passenger side one popped out on my first freeway trip after getting the truck. Pushing from the side was useless, pushed from the back, never came out again, even after a light bulb swap. Drive side comes out sometimes, just push it back in. Doubt a new one will fix the problem, it's just a poor design.

I'll mess with it soon and keep an eye on it. Maybe design is fine, but they can't keep with tolerance at the plant. Most issues seem to be on passenger , so some unwanted variation skewed on that side.

You'd think there be at minimum a TSB that actually addresses the problem. I might be getting ahead of myself but clip replacement is probably a bandaid solution...until next time.

I had that problem, one only one side, after changing to led bulbs.

Finally gave up and bought new plastic grommets. That is working, it hasn’t popped out since I replaced them.

Not good to hear that they are failing on lenses that haven’t been removed.
