There may be no performance gain with this setup because it's drawing in hot engine compartment air rather than cooler outside air.
Glen you beat my post by seconds.....

Wait for it,
Fuel air mixture systems and could care less if the air going into your engine is 60 degrees or 120 degrees, or twenty below or 40 F

Besides it’s not that hot under the hood. Did everyone forget about the radiator fan ?
Spinning away pulling in outside air.

Aww never mind,
It looks fast and likely sounds fast so,
It’s faster ! Yeah that’s it !

Cold air Intake, my ass.

You need to re tune things, dyno time.
$600-$1200 and a bigger turbo would be a good place to start.

You’d feel more with a free flow muffler than you ever would with a fancy open air breather.

One more time,
The fuel control system runs things and will readjust to factory specs what your engine gets no matter how cool or what kind of air intake system you stuff under the hood.

Talk to the guys in here who have actually spent the thousands and got more power.

Someone got over 300 horse power but I think it cost them close to $8,000
I could be wrong.

This is a picture of the 25+ EB with the filter/airbox/MAF removed for filter replacement.

What I am waiting for is a Cold Air Intake that widens the OEM intake tube at the grill entrance - Then flows through a filter & airbox that also incorporates the OEM MAF sensor.

edit - I just noticed the eBay intake does incorporate the MAF. Also, the eBay intake is in the flow path of the air coming into through the grille

This is a picture of the 25+ EB airbox etc. Note the narrow cold air intake at grille (make it bigger please) and also the required MAF sensor colored in red (must be included in a CAI).

You should stop posting stuff you obviously know very little about, it doesn’t help others. You did this earlier In another intake thread.

The engine via the MAF, etc. compensates for intake charge temperature variances. A colder, more dense charge will produce more power. How much more power remains to be seen And is application/vehicle dependent.

That intake design would be a hard pass for me pulling in air from the heat-soaked under hood area.

I just noticed the eBay intake DOES incorporate the OEM MAF sensor - good. The filter also sits in the fresh air path of the incoming “cold” air from the grille duct…

That said, the additional air coming in to my airbox through the holes in my Helmholtz is cooler than the eBay intake:)

There have been quite a few folks here who have installed various CAI on there 22-24 Mavericks. Pain in the butt to install and some have had codes thrown…

The OP posted the first CAI that I have seen so far for the 25/26 EB’s…

It looks very simple to install! If that cone filter is oiled - it may throw a code from the MAF sensor mounted slightly behind it? I’m sure it will sound louder than the OEM - good for some but not for others.

I’m with you - someone should try it. I don’t see it hurting the EB or affecting the warranty.

Am I the only one questioning whether the hood will close or not? Also, I just swapped out the paper oem filter for a K&N filter and haven't had any issues (2000 miles so far). I originally ordered the AFE but it didn't ship for over a week. Ordered the K&N and it shipped the next day, so I canceled the AFE.

The reason I upgraded, I drive a TON. Having a reusable/cleanable filter is almost a must with how often I have to perform basic maintenance...

Lot of heat!
On the 25/26 EB - that location is on the “cooler” side of the engine bay. Other side has the hot transmission and also the “hot” turbo pipe going down into the intercooler. “Cool” side of the turbo tube is under the K&N. I highlighted in BLUE where the air enters from the OEM grille opening/scoop. Also, the radiator fan is near pulling cooler air through….

I actually might install one in the Fall after the weather cools & I install an intercooler. We had our first 100 degree day today!
