This may be way off, but came to my mind after reading through the printouts of errors that FORScan produced. These trucks (and most other modern vehicles) have multiple computer systems that communicate to each other. Looks like a major breakdown in communication is happening between at least a couple of systems. Maybe a loose or faulty connector somewhere? I have also seen online where a truck (in this case a 2022 Doge Ram 1500) would run for approx 20 min and then go into limp mode and pretty much disable the truck. Wait a period of time and the truck would start up and run fine, for another 20 min then do the same thing. Through days of troubleshooting the mechanic discovered there was a faulty connector between the BCM and ECU. This particular connector had a tiny resister for each pin in the plug. After 20 minutes the resister on one of the pins in the plug from the BCM was overheating and malfunctioning. The faulty resister was causing "data" not to be transferred on that one wire. That's all it took to disable the entire vehicle after 20 minutes of driving. Have no idea if any of the connectors in the Maverick have resisters?? Just thinking outside the box. If anything it appears that the recall update for the BCM is affecting hybrids way more and possibly corrupting data that the different systems use to communicate.
The problem described in this post most certainly has the smell of a network failure. I believe that all CAN buses have a 120-ohm termination resistor at each end of the network line. You can often verify this with a DVM (should read 60 ohms) thru the OBD connector AFTER system power has been shut down, but wiring diagrams are needed to isolate any faults. I cannot imagine that the resistor(s) are overheating, but they certainly could have a bad connection. Here's a good video that describes the situation.

I appreciate the work that you have put into this serious issue, my 22 Mav XLT went into limp mode 3X this weekend first while TOWING ON I-95, then twice while TOWING on the back roads home because of being afraid to get on the interstate again. TURD has already had my truck for an afternoon after they towed it in and burned a ¹/⁴ tank of gas trying to get it to happen again.

I'm really getting PO'd by their lack of concern for our safety.

I am shocked there isn't a recall for the recall or any type of acknowledgement from Ford regarding this issue.

Someone somewhere said they released a update last week but no further details and it was likely a dealer telling someone that just to tell them it was "fixed".

Dealer should be able to tell if there is a software update available.... If there is a newer update available than your Maverick currently has after the recalls..... then that most likely will be the "fix".

I did check Ford Tech Hotline assistance for this issue..... Ford engineers have said that there are software updates that should fix the concern (as of late March/early April).

Well, this has now happened to me three times in a row, and quite honestly I wish Ford would give us something solid to go off of, especially for those of us who don't have the luxury of dropping off the truck for an extended period of time at a Ford dealer.

So, the symptoms - start driving, and the truck suddenly throws a barrage of errors - ESC fails, gear selection at low speed message, hill assist disable, pre-collision assist disabled, ABS light is on, MIL is on, service wrench is on, and drive mode selection is disabled. Might be something else in there that's disabled, but you get the gist. Truck loses all response to gas pedal, slows down and then slams on the parking brake at like 1-2 mph. Taking the parking brake off, you have no gas pedal input and the truck just accelerates up to 30-35 mph (don't know the exact number, because every time this has happened to be the speed limit was 30 or less so I ended up just riding the brakes to keep the speed down).

The only benefit here, and why I'm also making this post, is to share that there is a bit of a workaround so you're not completely stranded in a garbage situation. And we'll get to that here in a minute.

At least with the fail this time I had my laptop with me, so fired up FORScan and managed to get a complete system read of all the failures in real time. So here's the fail right after it happened (luckily I was in a parking lot, so was able to pull immediately over into some open spots):

So what happened? Only thing that comes to mind is that the truck sat long enough that it all of the systems were able to be properly power cycled, since turning the truck off with the key doesn't actually turn the truck off right away. Reset the codes again, and this time nothing came back, code read was completely clean, MIL off, and everything was perfectly fine. Got home no issues, and then proceeded on a 150mi drive to the airport without any problems.

So what's the takeaway? If you get this fail, get somewhere safe, turn the truck off for 5-10 minutes, then proceed on your way. Obviously there's a problem, but at least you don't need to be stuck in limp mode the whole time.

Ford released new software updates at the end of March/beginning of April (I'm not certain of the exact date), that addressed this concern. That should be the fix!

Has Ford published a TSB for this? Maybe I missed it last time I was looking at them. And since my garage is a complete third party that's working on all US-spec makes and models over here, I'd like to have something a bit more concrete to give them before I cough up the truck for 2 days for a software update they may or may not be able to find.

No, no TSB. I really don't think there would ever be a TSB. Possibly an OASIS broadcast message or SSM. Maybe a footnote on the recall itself.

They did pause at least one (maybe more?) of the Maverick recalls for a few days, and then gave the all-clear to perform the FSA again. So it sounds like they figured out what the issue was and corrected it.

Ford dealers should be able to find the latest software easy....as long as they keep FDRS up-to-date. If an update shows up for Mavericks that are having this issue (on PCM and SOBDMC), then that should be the solution.

So the takeaway I'm getting here is that there's likely a software update that's been snuck into play, but no official direction instructing dealers or affected owners to seek out the update, just a lot of side channel discussions about it. Which then makes me wonder who will be responsible for the labor costs involved.

I divorced my first.
I'd set fire to this one.

So far, yes.

If it is under powertrain warranty, it would just be claimed by normal warranty.

I've never encountered a situation like this before, but if outside of that....I'd think you'd be able to claim it similarly to a "service part warranty". Or the dealer would contact SSSC for instructions on how to proceed.

It is very possible that there may be an additional FSA for all Mavericks that got the software update during the "suspect" time period. That would cover the reprogramming.

I took mine into the shop when this happened to me at highway speeds a couple of weeks ago. They drove it for a couple of days and could not repeat it. They also did not see any new updates to apply to fix the ones the applied in February. :(

And that's what's so annoying about this issue. I've put hundreds of miles on my truck in between fails, so a dealership just taking it and driving it for a couple of days probably isn't going to see anything.

Just had my xlt 2022 hybrid returned by the dealer, Sanderson Ford in Phoenix. They provide valet service, pick up and drop off plus a loaner, no charge. What a deal!
They performed a recall and claim to have corrected the limp mode with a software upgrade.
Will have to take a road trip to verify
