My 2025 Hybrid Lariat completed a software update this morning. Drove to work on ECO mode. When I started my Maverick at the end of my work day to return home, on my dash it read
"Normal Active, return to ECO? Yes or No"

All I had to do was click "OK" on my steering wheel and I was back to ECO mode.

AWESOME Ford!!!!

this is not from the update. this has always been there for any 2025 because it's there in sync4 / 4a.

you really just didn't notice previously for whatever reason. it's short and it's easy to miss. if you remote start, it might not show at all that you can interact with. backup sensors and seatbelt warnings can get in the way, too.

I noticed this little popup as well! It was a very welcome change, even though I would much prefer it to just remember my choice and not ask.

Oh, that is less exciting, I suppose. I think this little popup is covered up by the seatbelt indicator screen when not all occupants have yet buckled up, so that may be why I have missed it in the past.

that's exactly what can happen. if you have something on a hitch or in the right place on the tailgate to interfere with either cross-traffic or rear parking, that will jump right in your face, and you will find it difficult to OK whatever the other message(s) are and then still OK the drive mode resume before it closes itself and defaults to normal drive mode.

it has been a major pain in the ass in my Bronco trying to ensure my wife was using slippery drive mode in long periods of snowy/icy weather so I'm real familiar with this ridiculously short notice.

this has been normal since 2019 when sync4 arrived, so unfortunately guys, I would not expect Ford to change it to default to previous drive mode if you don't hit OK.

They did, apparently, improve the FordPass connectivity though. This is really the only complaint I've had (had the same issue with my '23 EB, assumed it was a network-based issue). Lately it would crap out and not update/talk the truck every few days or so. We'll see if the update addresses it going forward.

Wonder if they saw people like me constantly doing FordPass factory resets + adding the truck back to the app and got annoyed enough to fix it (only half joking).

It's always been there but covered by your seatbelt screen if you didn't fasten it before starting the car.

It's actually to presses because it defaults to "No". So it's actually the same amount of presses as switching to eco from normal.

Still waiting for auto resume or default yes.

Oh. Thanks for the clarification. I do almost always remote start and, I rarely pay attention to the dash once I start the vehicle cycle through the seatbelt checks.

I was literally excited when I saw the option today. Didn't realize it was there all along.

MODS - you can delete this thread.

regardless of whether your '24 has sync3 or ford connected audio, the answer is no.

the title is wrong, but can be easily edited. there's useful info in the thread.
Sorry, my question why was directed to the OP That was why I quoted him.
I'm guessing he would be the only one that would know why he wanted it deleted.
Updated my post #11 to be more specific.

sure, but I was just agreeing with you. why bother deleting it? it's not a big deal to have an idea and then find out otherwise. we're all learning as we go, the alternative is not learning. :D

I understand why ford makes certain things revert to default after ignition off, but I can't figure out why it reverts to NORMAL when the previous mode was ECO, after all it's an ECOBOOST in my situtation, they may have just called the car Ford Maverick 2.0L NORMAL-Boost.

Another is automatic engine shutdown feature, reverts to default at the next ignition cycle, I know it's not a big deal to hit the button every time I start the car, but it's strictly a software setting, and I don't dare modify anything while under warranty, giving ford an excuse to refuse warranty service.
