Kia Homelink mirror installed

I’d like to thank everyone that posted on this form about the Kia Homelink auto dimming compass mirror. i’m glad I found this form made it very easy to do !!
I did pay $55 for it but well worth it should’ve came with the lariat lol I think the wife is impressed thanks

I Installed this Frameless Lexus/ Toyota Mirror with built in Homelink powered by a battery. So no wiring is needed. This option does show compass direction too! A couple downsides to this option are the dimming is still manual and this mirror costs $100+.

I went with this setup as well.

I bought 2. One for $10 and one for $20. They come and go as far as availability. One went in my Bronco and other is for just purchased XLT MAV.

I did the longer harness as I ran the wires to the fusebox.

I appreciate y’all‘s ability to install yourself. I installed raptor lights on my MAV, but that was really easy. I hate to say it, but installing this mirror is a bridge too far for me. Any thoughts on where to go for this once I get the mirror?

I wouldn't be afraid of it. It's pretty simple. Just take the power fron the map lights.

On checking other threads I didn't see an answer to the question of when pulling from maplights instead of turning off with the car, if it stayed on. Or even if it loses the garage programming when it loses power. I may just be massively misunderstanding how the mirrors work though.

The map light connector has all three wires that are needed. 12V constant power which is used for the homelink, 12V switched with the ignition (ACC) which is used for the auto dimming and compass and a ground wire.

You could just save some cash and tap into the existing connector similar to what you did when you installed your raptor lights.
