Key fob...poor design?

One of few peeves I have about my maverick.....is with the new key keyless start fob...........it seems if I do anything besides hold it my hand the panic alarm often triggers...

Put in coat or pants pocket barely bumping anything seems to set it off. Its rather annoying and embarrassing as then have to dig out keys to turn dang thing off........shouldn't panic button been more recessed?

Maybe you could try a fob cover? I use one and haven't had any accidental button presses. Amazon has several styles to choose from.

My slip in cover helped, but still have problems occasionally. What good is a fob you never have to dig out if you have to reset the alarm ? Toying with the idea to disable it.

Apparently you have a defective one. My wife and I carry ours everywhere every day in my pocket on key rings and in her purse never had an issue.

I agree as well. Faraday pouch keeps the fob safe in a robust case and from being accessed remotely by would be thieves. And have not had any accidental issues with the fob being triggered. FYI

I don’t have time to find it for you but if you review all of these videos of Oscar Leroy, I’m sure he has a solution for the same peeve that you have.
It’s very important to post things of critical importance like this for all to know just what keeps you up at night.

FYI…See attached.

I had that exact pouch from Canadian Tire, and it was pathetic. Try closing it and then trying to use the door unlock and you'll notice that there is still sufficient signal leaking from the pouch that it is failing to do its job. Now I use a small tin and it works far better.

I would respectfully disagree. When I have the fob in the pouch in the truck I get a message that no fob is detected. When I approach my truck with the fob in the case, the doors will not unlock. I’m not sure what brand is at CDN Tire. FYI

Wrong--this is a fairly common issue. Accidentally put it in your back pocket and sit in a soft chair. I've set mine off numerous times. Put it in my front pocket and bend over, will set it off as well. I've had many key fobs, but none as sensitive as these.

No FOB issues with XLT, no keyless.
