I orderd and configured a third keyfob for my Lariat. It was an easy process to configure and it was only about $35.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BW3W2WZG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The mechanical key was blank so I was going to have it cut locally but realized it would require a locksmith and probably cost an arm and a leg. I tried to use a key machine at Lowes but it would not take that key type.

I saw this Ebay link and decided to try it out. I ordered two blank keys and sent the picture of my current cut key to them. Cheaper to just buy the keyblanks from them instead of mailing my blank one to them.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/235289962390

Two weeks later they showed up and I tried them. Both WORKED without any issues and the total cost was $21 including the new key blanks which were identical to the factory ones on the keyfob. I placed one of the keyfobs into a magnetic keybox and placed it on the metal shelf in the rear near the tailpipe - perfect location. After reading about the person with a Lariat that ended up gettting locked out their truck I figured it was worth $10 just in case it ever happened to me.
I usually try to make 4 keys for each of my vehicles since i end up keeping them for a long time. I'll have to see if the Maverick supports 4 configured keyfobs...probably does since my Mustang does.

Thanks for the eBay info - I might need to try them out. Tried two locksmith shops in town - neither had the correct software to cut a 2023 Maverick key they said. I asked them to look for Bronco Sport or Escape - should be same blank p/n - no luck.
I bought the correct blank to have as a spare, non-fob key. Plan to keep in my hitchsafe. I'll trying mailing it to that eBay setup - will definitely be less than getting a local shop or the dealer to cut it!

I think it will actually be cheaper and much quicker to just buy the keyblank from them since the $10 includes the blank and the keycut.

I bought the Strattec 5923293 HU101 transponder key. It will start the truck and unlock it (just not via fob button). And can be DIY programmed.

edit - that one you linked is from China. I'll have to find another option for more $, but something like: https://fasterautokeys.com/products/mail-in-service-laser-key-blade-cutting-service-by-photo might be fine.

In my little town of 2k people, the local mobile locksmith cut two keys for me I had bought on Amazon (per Redneck Garage's key thread). She used a cheap test key at first, to make sure her machine would properly cut the fob keys, before actually cutting them.

She charged $75 for cutting the two fob keys and just gave me the test key. I programmed the fobs myself, using the instructions in the user manual.

I put the test key in a magnetic key hider, so I could get in the truck, if I ever locked the fob key in the truck. It will open the doors & tailgate, but will not start the truck.

I went by 3 local places and none of them could cut a maverick key. Thank you for the link. I think the link is not for the XLT or the XL but maybe they have something that would work with those.

I too ordered the Amazon blank key....took it to key shop (Ace Hardware) and they said we don't cut keys that they don't sale. Took to 3 other locksmith shops and all three said the Maverick key was longer than standard keys and it would not fit in their cutting machine.

My motivation for 3rd key is due to being locked out 4 times...the door keypad got me back in but looking to hide a key somewhere.

If you have a Lariat with the remote keyfob (intelligent keyless starting) follow my first post and you won't be sorry....about $10 total for one keyblank and a cut or get two (spare plus one for under vehicle) for $21...cheapest possible solution and my cut keyblanks are indentical in looks and function like the OEM ones. So I have three functioning keyfobs with cut key inserts and a spare insert under the rear of my truck in a magnetic case.

UDPATE:
FasterAutoKeys - they cut my blank with just a picture...

...and it works. Not the smoothest - does get better with cycling, but it works to unlock the door and start my XL (after DIY programming*). No place in town would cut it. Hadn't bothered to ask if Ford would/could - can't imagine what they'd try to charge.

*someone else posted this before:
To program you insert the existing first key, turn on ignition, count to three, take out put in existing second key turn on ignition - count to three - take new third key - turn on ignition - leave on - you should hear a chirp and a message key was successful.

The Strattec 5923293 HU101 transponder key you mentioned doesn't show 2024 Maverick XLT as compatible in the description on Amazon.com, BUT in user Reviews some Maverick owners say it works~~~~ I'm just double checking with you before I order it. If it's correct part, then I assume I take it to locksmith to have it cut? Thanks for a clarification and confirmation

This is the same procedure, that I had to do to program a second key for my 2008 Ranger, back in 2012...

I received my $10 key from the Ebay source you recommended, about two weeks after ordering it. It's a little rough to insert it in the lock compared to the original key but it works!

For my XL I just want an emergency spare that gets me into the truck - I know I can't start the engine with this chipless key. Thanks for the suggestion!

I did the $10 eBay key from China too. Works perfectly. Taking a good picture of your key is the most difficult part since I kept getting reflections off the shiny metal. Took less than 2 weeks arrive and I'm glad to have gotten one since I've accidently locked the driver's door with my keys and phone in the truck several times. (Thankfully, the rear doors weren't locked those times).
