I'm not salty with the unscheduled folks that got scheduled, not even with those that have a brand new order and got scheduled ahead of those with a year or more of wait time.

I'm actually happy for them. I want us all to get our trucks and all of them to be glitch free.

I am frustrated with Fords lack of communication.

If they would have told us a few weeks earlier that they couldn't make all the Mavericks they had given vins to people like myself could have reordered while the window was open.

Would have saved a lot of grief.

If they are going to move us all to a placeholder date of some sort, which is what I expect the 12/19 and now 1/9 weeks are, just tell us.

Sometimes things go wrong, thats a fact of life.

When it does, own it.

Admit something went wrong, and tell those effected what you are going to do to make it right.

Watching my order get put on the back burner while others move ahead is frustrating.

My frustration is mostly with Fords lack of communication, both to us and to the dealerships.

Alrighty, I'm done venting now.

Hope you all have a good day and a great truck.

Not saying it's right (it's not) but this is a no win situation. Anyone at Ford who does stick their neck out and say something will inevitably be wrong. And when they are proven wrong people will point fingers and say they lied, or intentionally deceived or misled, etc. Depending on who said what there are also legal concerns when a spokesperson from a public company makes announcements that could affect the stock price that turn out to be wrong.

I spent some time as the spokesperson for a company I worked for. I learned quickly the only safe thing was to learn how to say nothing when the news or public asked. No matter how honest you are someone will blame you when you are inevitably wrong, partially wrong or they just heard something you never said. Just the world we live in.

All that said I wish Ford would be a little more (Maybe a lot more) communicative. Personally, I think it would improve the public's perception of them. At least it would improve my perception of them.

But that just isn't going to happen.

There has been a lack of communication all along. And what communication is relayed (remember “we will change scheduling to first in first out barring constraints” or ‘22 rollovers will have priority”) is often incorrect. If we didn’t have people like fordvideoguy we would stay in the dark.

Great products should be combined with great customer care and service. It’s clear the online model Farley is moving towards has unaddressed and unresolved problems in not only our Mavericks but also all the other recent launches. Responsibility should come from the top. Henry would be so saddened by what has become of his company.

Amen is all I can say. You hit the nail squarely on the head.

It is very frustrating with the lack of information that we are receiving but it is not just Ford. I have a Kia on order and they are the same way. They will not give out a VIN and you are unable to track the build and shipment day. I called the dealer the other day and was notified that it will arrive on or about the 20th of December. Thanks for letting us know.

They build some Kias right down the road from me. You get some names I’m happy to knock some heads. 😁
I can focus my Ford frustrations on Kias. 🤣

I guess I should have been more specific — Jim Farley, Ford CEO

And if I could offer something constructive to offset my tirade:

Dear Ford,
We understand there have been issues with caused by the pandemic and supply constraints. You have all our email addresses. So a monthly automated individual email outlining what was completed and a thank you for your patience would go a long way to fostering a better feeling and alleviate some anxiety. You could also use it as a marketing tool to highlight addItional Ford products, DIY hacks, profiles of happy customers, and other items of interest. Maybe even a behind the scenes tour, or a look at other upcoming launches. That would be a newsletter to look forward to during our long wait.

I do wonder what more people want Ford to say? Something like, "sorry we gave you a scheduled build date and VIN, but the trailer bringing the parts for your truck couldn't get a delivery driver" or "sorry, the transport trailer couldn't get loaded because there aren't enough warehouse workers", or "sorry, the transport bringing parts was destroyed in a vehicle accident", or "sorry, our supplier couldn't provided the parts they said they would give us", or "we couldn't produce as many engines as we thought we would due to delays". So on and so forth.

Would these types of answer actually make you feel better about the delay? I only ask because I truly am curious! It's easy to say "well darn it, why didn't they tell me two weeks ago!", when maybe Ford still thought they would be able to build those vehicles? There are so many variables in production right now, I bet it's like throwing darts.

When they learned (or decided to tell us) that they were not going to be able to build all the orders that they took, all was fine. They couldn't predict on 11/15/21 that they already promised too many hybrids...or on 1/??/22 when they stopped EBs a little too late. They were fine when they decided to have folks re-order 2023s with a little private offer bonus.

Then it went to crap. Some genius missed an extimated 6,900 orders when they set up those rollovers. Then another genius decided it was time to open up order banks.

Now here we are...new 2023 orders are mixed with rollover orders because it was left to dealers to prioritize. Some brand new orders already have production VINs, and an entirely new group of people were formed with the 6900 2022 VINs to be cancelled.

These were unforced errors.
