I got lucky. On impulse I dropped in dealer while driving by and said I wanted one and the sales gal asked if I had selected a build online and I said no. She said that she would go into Ford portal online on her computer and when she got to the build my maverick portal she let me pick the options I wanted and at the end selected her dealership and signed off. Then went to rear for the person there to accept the order and do their thing. While they were doing that she brought me the order to sign and got my DL to meet order requirements. I was in and out the door in 20-30 minutes. This was August 27, 2021. In last week of April I got a vin# and 2-3 weeks later I was scheduled for June 27th build. Never received any email from Ford after the "received your order" email from Ford but received text of vin # and build date from the sales gal.🥰
This is essentially how I did it. I went online but didn't commit to it. Called the dealership and they told me to come in as they couldn't take the order over the phone.

Did so. He went through the online system just as I had done and picked my build. Went in the back with my license, etc then brought back the paperwork to sign and paid the $100 deposit. Got the emails from Ford while i sat there. He wanted to make sure i got both. If the second didn't come in by the next day to call them. But they were both in within 15 minutes.

You never contacted Ford customer service or dealership once since October asking for an update?

You never got a sales code or order code or a printout?
Yes I got the print out and no I never contacted them. I checked in with dealer every couple months via email and was told everything is fine it's just a waiting game... based on the forum threads, I had no reason to doubt that.

Does Ford have your email in the system or the dealers? Make sure they have yours in there so anytime something happens, you get updated. Theoretically you will get a build and ship email and then you can track it to the dealer so they don't try to sell it out from under you.
Never got one email from Ford. Gave their CS reps my email at least four times and still never got an email.

Got my vin and tracked It myself until dealer called.

Below is a copy/paste email from my local ford dealer. I ordered the Maverick October 29th 2021. All along ive checked in every couple months to see the status (with the dealer) "
What I’m being told is by you just walking in and ordering a maverick and not going through the lead portal is the problem. We do have a portal with order verification that the maverick is not part of . I didn’t relise there is another separate portal just for the maverick that’s my fault I’m trying to see if I can switch a stock unit to your spec’s. If not it will have to be a 23 but I am trying. Sorry it’s my fault that you where not put into the Maverick portal"

I'd post my 2 reply emails to the dealership, but there would be a whole lot of censoring. I was not happy to find out after 7 months of wait, that he never completed the order process. Is there anything legally I can do? Besides get back my 500.00 deposit and buy a truck way over what I was supposed to pay for this one. (Sad part to me is I still want the truck)
For what its worth I reserved and ordered mine 6/4/21 and just got it yesterday. (Hybrid first edition)
Dealership never knew anything except when it was "On its way" and that took over a week before it was delivered to them. The tracking of these cars is near impossible. Once i got my VIN the car arrived 2 months later if that helps.

Never got one email from Ford. Gave their CS reps my email at least four times and still never got an email.

Got my vin and tracked It myself until dealer called.
Same as me. Ford Customer Service has my email, I've double checked with them at least 5 times, but, they tell me that since I've never got any emails from them, that they they think the email getting used is my dealerships email, and they can't change it...only my dealership can. I don't know the point of Ford asking what my email is if they never use it. My dealership asked for my email back when I ordered it, they send promotional crap, but never a Maverick update unless I call them.

You’d have schedule and production emails from Ford if they were building it.
Not so, I never received an email update or confirmation from Ford. All my information was from Customer Care and my dealer.

based on a couple YouTube vids about how to properly go throught the Maverick order process, I believe my dealer made the same mistake as what happened to the OP. I placed my order on the day of the ordering deadline and got a call from the dealer at 7pm the night of the deadline that my order did NOT go though.. my heart sank, but what could I do? at least the dealer was straight up with me. then the next morning I got a text from the dealer with a pic of an order in my name with all the options I wanted. curiously the date on the order was post-deadline -- the dealer used one of his four allocations for me. went back to the dealer a couple of days later to drop some accessories [dropped the mudflaps that got on there by mistake and dropped the tonneau cover] and most importantly I asked the dealer to change the Priority Code from the default 19 to the lowest possible: 10 -- I believe dropping the Priority Code is what got my truck built.. took delivery last week :)

I did my homework and even told the dealer that the right way to order was to go on Ford.com get a reservation number and only then place the order via their dealer system using that reservation number.. had I known better I would've done it myself.. cuz basically the dealer needed to go on Ford.com and pretend they were the customer [me] and fill everything out in the customer's name and then Ford.com would give them that reservation number they needed for their Maverick orders to go through.. my dealer did non know that either, and did not do that and my order did not go through, however my dealer did everything right for me after that mistake and used up one of his allocations and now I got my Maverick and all is good with the universe.. sometimes the stars align just right..

Not correct..... I never got any notice from Ford on the status of my order. I had to call customer service. They gave me an update. This board gave me the links to check for vin# and production info. My Mav is in production.... has been for a week?????

What's ironic, to me anyways, is that when we were ordering our vehicles last year, Ford was putting out press releases saying they were transitioning to a sales process that EMPHASIZED "made to order", as a way to make sure we got what we wanted, and dealers didn't buy a bunch of boring builds for their inventory.
I believe Ford is on to something here, but they have a lot of glitches to fix.

Ordered Lariat, First Edition, Rapid Red, Luxury Pkg, CoPilot 360 on 7/26/21. Received a vin some time ago, for build dates week of May 9th, then pushed to 5/16, then 5/23 & now the latest is week of 5/30 if I don't receive the dreaded email pushing it back again. What trim levels did you order? I notice you ordered First Edition, & Lux Pkg & CoPilot 360 go with that? I'm calling Ford CS tomorrow to see if my date is still current or if they pushed it again. Normally I receive the e-mails on Friday evening or Saturday from Ford.

That's possible. But when I called Ford and spoke with CS, they had all my info.

same exact order as you. It was pushed so many times, I was surprised even to get a call that it was en route honestly.

Sounds like the same thing i went through. soon as i forgot about it. That's when it was magically on its way lol. as far as my maverick it's the same as your order. not really sure about the copilot360 though i guess i should check.
