Other than our overnight test drive (which sold my wife on the idea of owning one), there isn’t much to say about our new Maverick at this point. It is currently in transit to our dealership and we should have Sept 30 (we hope!). It is equipped with the lux package, 360 co-pilot, 4K tow package, tonneau cover and sprayed in bed liner. We have already purchased a new set of weather tech floor liners to install when we pick up from the dealer. Also the dealer is changing the 4 season General stock tires with a new set of Michelin CrossClimate 2 AW’s and we will sell the Generals privately. Extremely excited to get our new truck and will post our experiences and questions in the near future.

I’m a Canuck!!! The Michelins we are purchasing are all weather which saves me from having to store snow tires in the garage or pay to have them stored elsewhere. I’m north of Toronto and snow can get a bit much in the winter.

Congratulations on the new truck, I bet you can't wait!

On a few previous cars, we didn't want the OEM tires and negotiated with the dealer to install better ones and they only charged us the difference. You only pay taxes on the difference, and often get a better deal vs selling privately because they'll sell your tires for full price as replacements so they can give you a pretty good price for them

No I wasn’t going to. I’ve have an Edge which we have owned 11 years. No rust and looks very nice. Just gotta keep it clean at the touch-less car wash in the winter. I have always kept it outside, mainly because I have a boat in the garage and, although it’s a double car, the other side is too short because of stairs into the basement. That said, I do believe that keeping the vehicle outside helps to prevent salty ice from melting, especially in the garage, promoting rust. My thoughts.

Thanks. My dealer wouldn’t accept a swap. Says they are technically used. Probably BS on their part, but I’ll get my credit by selling privately.

Their loss. I'd call the parts manager to explain your situation and ask if they'd be interested in your brand-new OEM take-off tires as part exchange for the Michelins you want, they might give you a different answer

The salesman doesn't want the hassle, but the parts guy might realize what they're worth

Thanks for the tip…It was the sales manager who responded with the no go. I will ask and see what the parts manager says.
