Bought a '24 Maverick XLT

Just introducing myself. Doc53. Got a 2024 carbonized gray metallic Maverick XLT hybrid. So far I like it but I only have 200 miles on it. I have installed a hard trifold tonneau and LED lights. Will be using this forum for questions and ideas to customize my new toy.

Congratulations on your new Maverick and welcome to the Club! I assume you just bought your new '24 XLT, how was that possible with the stop sale recall still going on? Did a fix come in?

I bought my Maverick XLT just before Christmas. I had been to three Ford dealers in the area and all had 2024 Mavericks for sale. None of the salesman said anything about a stop sale. I checked my FordPass app and it is not listing any recalls on my Maverick. I don't know what to say. If I am part of the recall, I would think Ford would send me a letter.

I am truly curious here as my Hybird XLT is trapped at the dealer. Also that color.

Ford issues a stop sale on all 22-24 Mavericks with XL and XLT trim. Not until the back up camera issue is fixed, dealers are not allowed to sell them and the purchaser drive off the dealer's lot in these pick-ups.

Did you buy your Maverick from a dealer?

Welcome to the forum. I'm just as shocked as some others as to how you were able to purchase your Maverick in the first place with the ongoing recall. That's been the case since September with no fix until the first quarter of this year. It affects any 22-24 Maverick XL and XLTs with Lariats equipped with Sync 3 exempt.

My neighbor told me today that he discovered our Ford dealership acquired a former buy-here pay-here lot that is storing 24 Maverick XL and XLTs that can't be sold as well as some excess inventory such as Edges and commercial vehicles. They ran out of room on the main lot and had to store them elsewhere which is telling of how bad it is for the company.

I've never seen our dealer stacked as much as it is now. Even before the pandemic our lot was never packed so full. Literally cars double parked along curbs and driveways, parked on medians and in between tree lines, essentially every inch of space is full. Everything's overpriced which is why it sits. I'll tell ya, if those Mavericks weren't recalled, they would've sold a loooong time ago as it's the only affordable option.
