Well after 33 months it’s finally time to say goodbye to my Maverick. No major problems over almost 3 years, just a few annoyances. Good news is I sold it for $500 more than I bought it for in Dec 22 (including tax), thanks Granger! When you add in the $6k profit on my first Maverick and the 0%, 36 month financing on this one it’s truly a remarkable thing.

No I will not be getting a new Maverick. The whole point was cheap transportation and the Maverick is not that anymore, so this is probably goodbye to the forum as well.

Next week I’ll be picking up a new 2025 Equinox EV LT2 FWD for $247/month for 24 months 0$ out of pocket…my cheap transportation journey continues. Later!

p.s. I will be posting my excellent condition snow tire set, mounted on my original steelies with tpms. Look for them soon on the marketplace!
I agree with you, the maverick isnt as cheap anymore.im hoping to get 15 years or more out of ours though, hopefully it holds up as good as my 16 year old ram that I bought new!

Good luck with your journey. Doesn't seem like you use all the capability of Maverick, so makes sense to move on. I can take 4 people on a 1000 mile winter road trip with lots of gear and no top box on the roof. Not many vehicles can do that. I think the capabilities attracted us just as much as price.
Capabilities for the price 👍

Thank you for being part of our forum, and enjoy your next ride, whatever it is. I, like you, saw the value of the Maverick when it first came out, and also decided to take a chance with one. I joined the forum while waiting for my Maverick which no one had even seen one, no less drove one. Lots of great people with all sorts of knowledge joined this forum, and I'm sure you will miss checking in every day to read whatever they have to say. Again, Thank You. and you will be missed for sure.

Thanks for the well wishes. In two years when my lease is up I may see some of you again in the baby Ford ev pickup forum (Ranchero forum?) Hopefully it’s the next bargain Maverick!

I love my Mav but some times I wish that I had kept my 2004 Ram that I had for 19 years!

I see myself driving this Maverick until it's well into the category of old. With most of my vehicles, they're driven until over 200 000 miles. Hopefully by the time I get another vehicle, they'll be making something other than crossovers and SUVs. Otherwise, I'll probably get another small truck, possibly Ford's upcoming (if it ever happens)EV truck will be perfected by then.
I wish I had your confidence. I have often kept my vehicles that long. But, the current Ford experience does not make me hopeful. In this regard your fortunate to be a Ford tech and I hope you're right.

Great looking truck! We use the ram to tow our camper, and the maverick to tow our boat when we camp.

I miss my F-250 when I have to haul a bunch of stuff. Fortunately that isn't often, so I would rather have a vehicle that covers 95% of what I need on a day-to-day and doesn't ride like a lumber wagon, and rent something for the other 5%.

So you didn't AD ANYTHING to your maverick like a bed cover or even quality floor mats? Like me I added elevate rails and hard bed cover , splash guards. plus more. So that would be the correct number assuming you added nothing .

Good luck with Chevy EV.

whoa, I thought you said 36 month, 0 interest financing. A 2 year lease is renting a vehicle and if you put 6k equity into a lease you just threw your money away on a time share vehicle.

The late 70s early 80s era Fords weren't that reliable. But nothing else was either other than Japanese cars. And they were just middling. Every manufacturer had some notable junk. But by and large, Fords have been at least decent. Some have been great.

I did a lot of upgrades, some I will be selling soon in the marketplace. I added cruise control, power tailgate lock, all weather mats, tonneau, bronco sport wheels and snow tires on steelies with tpms. Also bought tailgate letters and blocking plate that I never installed so they will be going up next week too…

You misread my post. I put 6k down three years ago when I financed the Maverick at 0%. Got all my money back from sale including tax, 6k and an extra $500. My new lease is $0 out of pocket. Putting money down on a lease is insanity.

A leased vehicle only makes sense if you are cash-poor and don't have the down payment and are forced into lease, or as a corporation where the lease payments are a tax writeoff.
