Every time I tell someone I have a Maverick I get that response.

Kind of interesting, anyone else get this response as well?

Yes. I think it's because the ICE is not on when I pull besides them. But about half the people who have asked if it was electric.

I have owned a Prius since 2012 and on my 2016 now. Most people who ask me about the maverick I have to tell them it is a Hybrid because they can't read the 3 Hybrid emblems I now have on my truck. I just tell them it works like a Prius and most know how a hybrid works after all these years of seeing Prius cars on the road. I usually just add the kicker, "Yep, gets 42mpg and costs less than a Corolla.

I have not had anyone ask if it was electric.

That's pretty much what I was thinking, since you aren't saying F150 the general public only knows the new ford truck is an electric one.

And why is Ford only blabbing about the Lightning and not the Maverick or even the F150 hybrid? Cause that big ole electric one can bring them a huge profit since they have it marked up near a six-figure sum to start with. Oh wait they dropped the price some due to a ton of nonbuyers.

Yet another reason I'm proud to soon be a Maverick owner. I'm not letting its flaws get in the way of my $$$ telling the market, that as a consumer, I want reasonable options.

I get asked that almost every time someone asks me about the truck. Even if they see the AWD emblem on the tailgate that are not familiar enough with the Maverick to know.

I do not say unfortunately Scott. I have never felt any level of dissappointment in the fact that Ford does not make an AWD Hybrid. For me it was always just as much about the Independent Rear Suspension as it was about the AWD. Plus the availability of the FX/4 package which, IMHO, is a phenomenal deal at 800 bucks. Hell, just those gorgeous wheels alone are worth that!!! I got one hell of a truck for 30 grand before taxes.

I told the guy at the local connivence store it was electric since I never buy gas from them anymore, his prices are higher than at Kroger with my Kroger card by a lot!

Most people I talk to have never even heard of a Maverick truck. I've never seen it advertised in any of the Ford commercials on tv. It's a well kept secret, likely due to it's extremely limited availability.
