It doesn't look like it would come off easily. It doesn't really bother me enough for me to risk making it look worse trying to remove it.
You could try some mineral spirits on a microfiber towel. I wouldn't risk it with anything more abrasive than that.

So it doesn’t stand proud of the hood like the old style bug deflectors?
AVS has one that doesn't attach by the double sided tape it looks like the older style ones. I have it just waiting on my truck to come in and put it on.

I installed the Lund version I bought with my Ford Pass points on the XL I had. I just traded it in for an XLT with the Lux pkg, and am thinking the WeatherTech is the route I may go this time.

I drove mine immediately afterwards. lol. Either the tape sticks or it doesn't.
Yep if it comes off at 1 minute or 24 hours, it's installation error.

Once it's on, it's definitely on. You aren't taking it off without a heat gun and some goo gone.

What's the primary purpose of that deflector? To prevent bugs from hitting the windshield? To prevent small debrit from hitting the hood? Both? Neither? Does it help with aerodynamics? Inquiring minds want to know. :)

I just bought one from AVS that attaches with mechanical fasteners. I will post pictures when it arrives and I can give some idea of what it looks like. I don't like attaching things with 3M Auto Body Tape. It's great tape but you end up with an area under the tape that isn't the same color as the rest of the paint and if you get a hit with a rock that is enough to chip paint, it will dent the metal under the deflector and the paint will come with the deflector when it is removed.

Will look forward to see that as very interested as will be doing my own ceramic vehicle coating, but with a possible late fall or winter delivery, may not be able to coat it till spring with the require temp of 50 plus degrees. Not sure if that is for the full 24 hour curing time. But the ability to be able to coat whenever and to be able to remove the deflector is big plus.

Let us know if it works! I'm thinking about getting one. With the Mav, I notice a TON of bugs splatter on the windshield where on my sedans it's only like %15 of the bug splatter. I'm curious if the deflector can somehow help with that too.

Looks good! I will be installing this ( if my truck ever comes) to protect from the inevitable paint chips on that part of the hood

This particular model doesn't keep bugs off the windshield. It only protects the leading edge of the hood.
There are other models that have a raised lip on top that are supposed to help keep the bugs off of the windshield. But I personally didn't like the look of those.

Is this the one you bought? It says it attaches with tape.

Nope the one I bought says it attaches with mechanical fasteners
The model and description are 25980 HS Bug Deflector II

I got the link from MaverickTruckClub but I can't find the link that was posted. I will keep looking to see if I can find it. But the invoice shows that part number under Item and it is shipped by Lund International which is the parent company of Auto Vent Shade. It has been delayed until Wednesday 4/13/2022 so when it gets in I will see if it has some better numbers with it. And if the instruction sheet they showed for attachment wasn't correct I will be sending it back.

Found the link

The high profile Bugflector II attaches with 4 fasteners under the hood. No tape.
Have you mounted one? One post said it has issues such as the mounting holes being misaligned and the tabs used with the screws breaking and lastly trim work required on the shield itself. Just want to verify if that report was a one off or the norm. Also you do have to tape two bump stops to the hood.
