don't worry about 3m tape. It will hold. Had it on my Escape for 3 years before a minor accident. Shop doing the repair removed for repainting and used new tape to put it back on. On the Escape it was not attached to the hood, but the front fascia. Lasted another year before trading in for the new Mav.... Mav Ford unit is 3m just at the Escape was, but on the hood.
