Saw the hot pepper red, 2.0EB Lariat, FX4, 4k tow package, trainer Maverick in-person today. Quite a few people there too. Didn't get a lot of pictures. Sat in it and was impressed by the roominess. I'm a big boy, and by big, not tall. I was worried that my basic anatomy might be uncomfortable. With the seat all the way back, I was comfy. No adult could sit behind me, though. A few other big guys sat in the truck at the same time, and everyone said they felt good. I did sit in the back, behind the passenger seat, with the seat forward quite a bit. I was comfy there, but like I said, if the seat is all the way back, I probably wouldn't be comfy.

We weren't able to start the truck because the trainer with the key wasn't around. However, he did make a quick appearance, and I was able to ask him about the MPG. He said he's averaging about 31.5. He also said that on his trip from Detroit to Ohio, all highway, he was getting 35. I hope those numbers are true to what we'll see in real world performance.

As for the pics. Didn't have a whole lot of time to really get good ones. I was on a work break, but I parked my Subaru Forester next to it to kind of give an idea about the size. Wish I could have gotten more, but I just learned about it being at the dealer this morning. For those of you in Ohio, this same truck will be at Germain Ford on Thursday, 8/12.

Thanks for this. I am a big guy as well and currently drive a Nissan Rogue (almost bough a forester instead) that I will be replacing in about a year. Before the Maverick came out I was hoping a next gen midsize truck (Ranger, Tacoma, GM Twins) would be a hybrid with at least 38 inches of rear legroom.

Pre pandemic once a week I would have a couple of adults in my back seat for a few hours. While this is a little short on the hoped legroom, the pricing and overall size is very appealing to me. I had said if my Rogue had a bed it would be just fine. Anyway I will for sure be checking out and it might be worth it to me to move my seat up a bit for those possible few hours a week.

You just pulled out unconfirmed best case scenario mpg for one powertrain, compared it to unconfirmed (made up) worst case scenario mpg for another powertrain. Then you wondered why anyone would buy the truck that gets around 40 mpg around town. 🙄😃

I would love to go with the ecoboost for the power. That being said , 98 percent of my driving is in the city, stop and go. I believe this is exactly what is not great on these type of engines. I would imagine I would need to do highway drives just to "blow the soot out" per say. That combined with the need for premium fuel just rules the turbo engine out for me..I'll just wait till next Christmas for my hybrid I guess.

the ecoboost mpg will tank in the city, they all do. My experience is about a 30% drop in fuel economy. The hybrid on the other hand will actually increase its economy in the city.

It's the Germain Ford in Columbus. I had no idea there was another one Beavercreek.

Yep, they bought out Hidy Honda and Hidy Ford. I bought my Element in 06 from Hidy. He was a hoot when he was alive. Here is one of his funny commercials on local tv I think you will laugh a little bit. Wasssup!

No, hybrid should do closer to about 40 city and 33 highway.

Hybrids can't help much on the highway because the tiny 1.1kwh battery depletes itself in no time, but it helps a ton at red lights and recharges on braking and what not.
Your gas mileage for the hybrid is way to far a p a r t.

That would be one of the farthest spreads I’ve seen on a hybrid between city/hwy. 🤷‍♂️
Super efficient engine.
Crappy truck aerodynamics.

Still 33mpg is what a little Fiat 500T gets on the highway, that weighs only 2500lbs and has a 1.4 liter engine. So its not so much that the highway fuel economy is bad, but that hybrid city efficiency is so good.

Definitely true IME.
My 02 Corvette is only down 1-2 mpg in the city compared to my 17 Ecoboost equipped Escape.

Man...if I knew it was getting as good if not better gas mileage than my dumb little Chevy Spark, I'd have not ordered the hybrid and done some performance upgrades. $^@!
