Looks like this is will a bad idea!

Happy Friday! I really want to be able to have my headlights like the Black appearance has, but I do not have the trust in myself to pull apart the housing, clean everything up, and get it all back together without dust/prints and broken stuff. LOL So I was thinking of going the vinyl tint route until I can maybe afford to swap out my set for a BAP set. However, I have not found a single set of tinted lights when they are on. If anyone has the tint on their trucks can you send pics or videos of what the headlights look like with the beams on? And what your tint percent is (or lighter vs darker), your thoughts on visibility, etc. when you have time? Thanks!

These trucks have awesome headlights. Bright, but not overly so that blind oncoming traffic. Great reach to the side as well as down the road. I am not understanding why anyone would want to tint these to reduce the light output just for looks??

You understand that the different look of the BAP headlights has nothing to do with the outer lens, right? The lens is clear...... the headlight surround and trim are different....

These are all good points and why I'm asking. Would tinting the lenses with a lighter tint make a difference in the output and/or is it worth it. Judging by the answers, there's a high risk which is a big part of what I'm looking for. I'm aware that the headlights on the BAP are not tinted, and that is what I really want. I see people driving around all of the time with fully tinted windshields, I assume that it reduces seeing the road in the same way. I'm new to all of this, so I am just looking for information.

Ditto. The only thing I can see putting on the headlights is clear ppf film. Maybe that is not necessary with today's plastics but experience tells me I don't want to be sorry in 5 or 6 years.

Also check with your local vehicle laws. It's not uncommon to prohibit installing lenses or tint on the headlight assembly that obstruct the light output.

There are lots of stupid things people do to their vehicles- tinting lights or windshield (except for the very top) are among the top offenders.

Lights aren't just so you can see- they're to be seen by other drivers.

Before u spend time and money ask the local police dept if it’s acceptable or will you get a ticket
