BMW Motorcycle has 32* warning and it was pretty important on 2 wheels when riding over mountain passes. Mini-cooper and Porsche both have it and I was surprised on mountain passes several times in a heated car and not aware roads were freezing. It is a very simple and cheap device. But the Maverick is an economy car, so not a complaint.

Do you need to have your car warn you that ice may be present? am guessing not; what say you?
I don't think most of here do, but lets be real there are some really stupid people out there. Warning labels exist for a reason after all.

I have never had a car that had it so not having it is no big deal for me… I think my SUV even had a light that is supposed to come on if I am close to running out of gas but I have never seen it as I use other signs to signal when I need to put gas in it. It’s the same for ice on the road for me!

I think that I saw the ultimate in big brother signs yesterday. At the entrance to a company parking lot, big yellow signs on each side of gate. "Caution Winter Conditions, Parking Lot MAYBE Slippery When ICE is Present"

Maybe Ford just trusts its owners to have an elementary understanding of physics that water freezes at 32F.
I can tell when it's cold and there may be ice. Some features seem unnecessary.
Exactly, like is it really necessary, come on.
I have it on my 2021 Subie and the beep and screen is a distraction. Its damn cold so yeah there might be ice.
Id complain about the interior door handle (big gap in there). On test drives I've accidentally swung that thing into the next car on the lot because I couldn't grab that stupid handle lol.

Yet you can have ice on a road way above 32F.
Oh? Could you elaborate? On a bridge or overpass with a wind chill factor perhaps? Or...

Is there something I'm overlooking, or does the Maverick lack a warning for freezing temperatures and potential ice issues? Every new vehicle I've had, even my 2015 Chevy Volt, displays a warning like "Ice Possible, Drive with Care." Surprisingly, my 2023 XLT Hybrid doesn't have this feature. Does the Lariat Trim include it, or is this another omission by Ford, akin to the absence of TSR on lower trim models?
I usually check with the first few steps in those conditions

I believe you can turn this feature on in Forscan along with other warning such as:

- Sunset at 6:22. Drive with lights on!
- Stop signs on this road. Apply brakes when approaching!
- Heavy consumption of donuts could result in obesity!
- Men should put toilet seat in down position after use!

I’ve never seen that warning pop up on my 2002 XLT, but then again I live in Florida…

Looks like this will be a topic with differing views. Just a straightforward question. I'm aware water freezes at 32 degrees; I don't need to check the temp. Personally not a fan of the seat-belt reminders either, but hey, it's for our "safety." My question was whether this feature is on any trim level or if Ford excluded it from all trims.
Never seen it on mine. Non-lux Lariat.
For that matter…………I never get the “seatbelt“ warning either. I climb in, push the button, “Ready” appears on the dash, I put it in gear and drive off.

There is a cheap fix for that; love mine:

Ford Maverick Ice Possible, Drive with Care Warning? IMG_3438

I use it ALL THE TIME for that paper wrapper that comes off drinking straws. But also find myself closing the door with it. Friction fit. Snug, but comes out easily to dump it out. Got it online over a year ago. 4 pack was like $20. Forgot where. Just search for Maverick accessories.

I already have enough crap to distract from the job of driving. The rat race has gotten much worse by me in the last couple of decades and it would be nice to not have my vehicle contribute (and make me pay for it) to the confusion and distraction. Better to make some real improvements like a bigger screen or nicer materials. Not something else to fail.

My 2017 RAV4 beeps when the temp is around 32. I used to wonder, "Now what the hell!" Doesn't bother me any more.
People around the planet are sick, hungry, thirsty, dying. I think I can put up with some beeps and MID displays.

I'd put up with it if I only had my Maverick! Wait is over 15 months now!
